i want some more mangas to read while im waiting for new chapters of the ones that im currently reading. i want some that are deeply involved with religion real or made up i dont care. and some that whould be rated R if it were a movie like full of gore and dosent shy away from sexual content

Angel Sanctuary - its a wow manga. The art work is great and the story is contravertial. This manga was also adopted to oav but the story is kinda different.
Gestalt - 7 volume, shounen manga but too bad only one chapter was released. It was also adopted to oav.
Houshin Engi - based from a chinese classic. This classic has strong influence of Taoist religion.
Akuma na Eros - angel vs demon over a girl. shoujo manga Its shinjo Mayu's work so expect cold blooded bishies.. warning.... its rated R....

Original Animated Video, also known as OVA (Original Video Animation)

Means it was released straight to video/DVD rather than aired on TV or in cinemas.

Kuroshiya 1 is very very gory and disturbing. It deals with sado-masochism.
Evangellion has religious undertones, I guess...

All the other ones I can think of, the other two have covered! Good luck!
