A consensual second base in a romance anime? I can scarcely believe it! (Not to mention I wasn't really expecting it from this one, a very pleasant/welcoming surprise indeed)
Though the argument can be made that Tsubaki could've(or should have) gone further/continued from where he left off, kudos goes to him for being able to restrain himself. Though it might've left a bad "cliche" taste in my mouth if he had awkwardly avoided her instead of addressing it the very next day. Again, pleasantly surprised. What a great week it's been for the romance-based shows I'm following this season (this, Tasogare, and Sakamichi).

Just saw episode 8 and was blown away! Ecchi!
When I first started this series, I thought it was gonna be the average mill romance/comedy story, but I was sure wrong! The heroine is so enticing, sepcially how conservative her character is. Ever bit of moe moments are gold from her. If you compare her character to a another show, where the girls are moe 95% of the time, it does no appeal for me. Continue on the good work!

joking, joking... I got the point, and might I add that the saliva is drawn like the one that my sickly old man was spitting before he died at 90
But to the point, the story is about a sexually inexperienced teenager in a socially repressive society, so even disgusting looking saliva of a mysterious girl seems tempting, and the writer plays a lot with alegories using the spit exchange as a medium of expression about their insecurities and first confusing experiences... if only he c/would draw better |

It's no use arguing with people who don't like the whole sharing drool concept. We just have to learn to agree with disagree. I'm gonna side with the people that say kissing is basically the same thing as what Tsubaki and Urabe are doing, only not on the outside. I think the debate that this show brings here is: who's single and who has a partner. Those who have partners understand what these two are going through and can relate to them. Those who don't basically act like what they're doing is the same thing as giving anthrax through the mail and as an ancient egyptian plague like locusts and warts, basically treating cooties like AIDS. Live and let live people.

All in all, I agree with that statement. What Urabe and Tsubaki are doing equates to a kiss. Making what Urabe and Oka are doing even better.

I guess I'm in the minority here when I say that I liked the weird angle this series had when it began, now it feels like it panders to a different fetish or archetype every other week, manga or anime. I mean I always harp on how I want a series with a couple that's already in a relationship but I honestly have a hard time with all the nonsense that comes across in this series. That crap with the idol, the movie plot that mimics their own lives, it's just a bit much.
:P
