Why in god's name are you people using the orginal Virtual Dub? And not Virtual Dub Mod, which could solve many of our Virtual Dub related problems.

That's like taking a 25 pound hammer to drive a 1 inch finishing nail.

thanks for the comment Cldmani

I use the original Virtual Dub because when i first started making Gifs, i found that program lying around in my hard disk, so i Just started using it and it works just fine for me. The Virtual Dub part of the process for me is the easiest, mark in mark out save image sequence and bam your done. I dont know the Mod one so i cant really say anything about it

Nice tutorial.
I haven't actually used content from vids before for any of my past works but seeing your tutorial has inspired a new idea for my next sig. Unfortunately, like Cldmani said, doing animated work takes a long time. Btw nice to see you here Cldmani, it's always great bumping into AO members in other forums.

No I should be thanking you Uzumaki626 for the inspiration
Although I'm not using the new sig I made here, you can check it out at http://skillzpay.animeonline.net and you'll see both the still and animated versions of the sig in my user gallery.

My guess would be that the 0ms for frames 1 - 42 isn't working well with the webbrowser. I would key the master frame delay to something like around 30ms but as each frame here is specified (1 - 42) to render 0ms, the 42 frames will need to drop the delay key to allow the master delay to function properly, or you could configure all 42 0ms frames to a higher number (xxms) delay time.

Is there an easy way to break up the frames from something other than a video? For example, a game. Or do you have to capture each frame?

Sorry, what i wrote before was not 100% correct

The free Trial Membership at uploadit.org only alows .jpg Files
If you make a real Account (wich costs money of course) you can upload whatever you want (till 20MB i think)

I just thought there might be another site where yould upload your stuff for free, wich allows gif's

Geeshh what a Cheepass i am

Oh damn they changed the site since last time i was there, last time i was there you didnt even have to sign up or anything and you could upload GIfs and what not. Ahh sites always gay out like this and make you sign-up for every single thing these days

and CardCaptorMoody if the game has a screenshot button, like half-life, you could keep pressing the screenshot button really fast as you are moving or something and then compile those screenshots into a gif using imageready, but halflife also has a demo record thing but i never used it, but you get my point. If the game has a special feature to screenshot you can keep pressing the screenshot button otherwise I am not to sure what you do as I dont make GIFS from games

Well, followed your wise guide on making the ulitmate weapon, the 'GIF'... However, it seems like if you have too much images, the Adobe Image Ready won't be able to read all of them.... Is there a limit on how many images for an gif btw? Nonetheless, thanks a lot Uzumaki626!
