As I stated previously, this isn't normally the kind of show I would watch. Yugiri is the only female character named so far, and the whole thing seems grittier than my usual fare. But because it's connected to ZKC, which I loved, I'll go ahead with it. That's twice Manglobe has taken on the task of continuing a project that Kawaguchi and Synergy SP started. Interesting.
There's no doubt Kyosuke is overpowered - the opening scene established that well enough - but I'm sure the show will give him some sort of limitation. And having a show that focuses on a group of anti-heroes, while not new, should provide an experience many franchises don't get. I'd be satisfied if one of the characters I enjoyed from the original series - Kaoru, Aoi, Shiho, Naomi, Double Face, Mio - made at least a cameo. I'm not sure how well they'd fit with the tone of espionage and suspense that this series is going for, but as a little bit of fanservice, it'd be nice. |

Well this... this actually wasn't too bad.
Had to shake my head at Andy's power but I guess they need a counterpoint to Hyobu from a writing standpoint. Kaoru at least cameos in the OP. Feels like despite being all dark and edgy take on ZKC there's some respect to the source material. Might be cool? |

The source material was always somewhat edgy and dark. It's always been about child soldiers and human experimentation and prejudice and all that. Obviously focusing on the bad guys emphasizes that a bit more, but this stuff has always been in the series.
