Well, I wanted a word limit both to challenge people (including myself!), and also because I'm assuming that most of the silence around here is due to people being busy, and prompting them to write long fics will most likely mean that no fics will be written . So I'm trying to be considerate!

Wonderful, wonderful. I already have an idea taking sprout in my mind, let me see if I can probably get it up tomorrow. It'll most likely be less than 200 pages, though, unless I really luck out in filling it all in.

Here we go then.

Season one - Nanoha and Yuuno leave Chrono to fight Precia's robots and he shows up later, but what was he doing?

Spoiler for Reaching the Limit:

‘Dammit, where the hell am I.’ that was the thought running through Chrono’s mind as he desperately searched for the others through the twisting corridors of the Garden of Time. “I knew going on my own was a mistake, but what was I supposed to do.”

An explosion form somewhere to his left and up drew his attention, perhaps that was the way everyone else had gone, still fighting Precia Testarossa’s robots. Orienting on the still echoing blast Chrono headed that way as fast as he could.

“Dead End” That was the third dead end sign he’d encountered, the third wall he’d ran into since beginning his search. “Why did she even put signs up in the first place?” It was highly irritating, he was supposed to be aiding his comrades is a battle against a dangerous enemy and he couldn’t even find the damn door.

“I swear to whatever deity that holds dominion here if I see one more damn sign I’m going to blow the wall down.” Racing down the corridors ahead of him he skidded to a stop before a strip of wood.

It read: Entrance – one floor below.

That was it. “Come on S2U, Let’s go.”

Couldn't get it under 200, had to settle for exactly on the mark. Ah well.

Meh, depends who you compare him to.

I've never written Chrono before... I don't think and I've never really bothered to look. I don't think he's an interesting person to write about really, especially come season three.

Fate simply couldn't tear her eyes away from the scene before her. It was a battle of unparalleled might and skill that had no equal. The two men dueled fiercely. Neither would give anything, but both would take everything. Their blades danced within millimeters of one another, aiming to take the life of the other in their deadly dance.

She could feel herself inching closer and closer to the war-zone that the two had created about themselves in their bout. Her red eyes drank deeply of the scene and etched it into her heart.

"Bardiche..." She intoned to her resting, golden device in a breathless voice.

"YES, MASTER?" The device's voice held a sliver of curiosity.

"...We must train harder." Fate's eyes refused to leave the screen.

"I AM THE SWORD THAT CLEAVES EVIL!"

“Yuuno, you can’t do it alone; it’s suicide!”

The boy looked at his battered cousin, currently being attended by an orderly. He flinched at the prospect of grievous injury or even death but his sense of responsibility overpowered them, if only by a small margin.

Seeing how Yuuno was still determined to go, his cousin ignored her injuries and continued. “These are not your usual harmless tablets and scrolls; they’re Lost Logias, dammit!”

“Which is why I must go!” he trembled. “Those things went into an NAW. The locals won’t know how to handle them!”

“Then wait for the Navy!”

“It won’t be fast enough; too much red tape. You know how unstable the Logias are – if we wait too long who knows what would happen!”

Magic circles materialized below him, and before she could refute he was already gone, leaving the two behind.

“I. HATE. BRATS!” she bellowed. There were too many suspicious things about the sudden Dimensional Storm. It was very possible that rampaging Logias would be the least of his problems.

The Navy better get here with troops. Lots of them.

She impatiently looked at her distress beacon. “Don’t die on me, Yuuno…”

I failed the challenge by 50 words(also my writing skills kind of suck) but i will post this anyway because i feel it's a waste not to do it.

Season 2 - Shamal is busy and Signum is asigned to take care of Hayate during the day activities.

Spoiler for A new flavour...:

At the Supermarket.

Hayate usually goes with Shamal for shopping, is kind of unusual being alone with Signum doing this kind of activity and she wants to know a bit more about her most disciplined child.

“Signum, is there something you like to put in the car?” asked the young master.

“I’m confident in your experience regarding the selection of our foodstuffs" answered calmly the stoic woman.

As always, Signum try to avoid making any comment that would create a conflict with her master’s commands, Hayate is already accustomed to this behavior but sometimes she just whishes that Signum just stop being so selflessly modest and reveal more of her desires and personal preferences, and this is one of those times.

“Really? Then why not you try this?” Hayate said pointing at a “free sample” stand offering "green tea flavored ice cream" whose flavour Hayate finds a bit weird.

Signum patiently goes to the stand where a woman offers her a sample of the green-ish creamy substance. The knight take a bite and her eyes open a little for a moment.

“teehee, sorry Signum, i just wanted to know if you’re really ok with anything”

“Master…”

“Yes?”

“Can i… can we take a box of this with us? …i mean, i think this can be a good suggestion for a dessert”

From that day onwards Hayate always take a box of green tea ice cream with the foodstuffs wondering if she has just created an "green tea ice cream" monster.

Feel free to slam my head with a hammer xD

Reading about household chores and slice of life living is always quite nice. Important question - is than an actual flavour of ice-cream.

Green tea is indeed a flavor of ice-cream. Never had it myself, but green tea itself is good stuff. That was a pretty cute scene.

As for the guys fighting it out, it was a scene from the anime 'Super Robot Taisen Original Generation: The Inspectors' where Wodan Ymir and Zengar Zonvolt are duking it out in their respective machines. 'I am the sword that cleaves evil' is Zengar's catchphrase. Big swords are big.

It was mentioned on various anime so i think it really exist(also this is a shout out to Mikage, the author of a very popular Nanoha 4koma comical strips. In one of those he portrayed Signum as someone who likes sake and green tea flavored things).
