It wasn't insanity. It was because she loved her mom.

Maybe people like you would find it more "realistic" if she suddenly change her mind and becomes Rin's best friend after she was convinced it was Rin's fault her mom died?

Well - I like Kaede, but this episode has only interesting op/ed animation...
I was really hopping for something better, but it isn't nothing more than "story from Kaede's point".
I still have hope for Kareha episode...

Actually, the episode titles were posted by Riker some time ago. There's no exclusive Kareha episode. At most, she'll take a bit of screentime in Asa's episodes.

Expect the rest of the episodes till ep 6 to have the same structure.

The meal's secret ingredient is....psychotic obsession?

I don't think Kaede ever felt real love for Rin.Perhaps friendship,after seeing how gentle Rin can be,maybe something a bit deeper after living with him for so long,but not "love".But all the rest is her unhealthy obsession.She feels horrible for what she has done,so what she craves is forgiveness and acceptance.Rin was the only person to offer her both of those.

However if other guys were as nice and gentle with her,and she somehow convinced herself she doesn't need to be Rin's personnal maid for the rest of her life,would she still stay by his side?I"m not convinced.

^ The "not love because" part can apply to ANY Shuffle girl, if looked under a specific perspective. I can apply it to ANYONE if so inclined, something like Freud's theory. So, the point is?

Basically you are arguing against something Kaede herself admitted in the original series, and you aren't exactly very convincing about it either.^^;;

What I"m saying is that Kaede's attraction to Rin has very little to do with love and mostly has to do with her broken psyche and twisted logic.

Whichever it is, this is a Kaede episode and thus it had me shouting encouragement for Kaede whenever she appears.

That "I had already given my body to Rin-sama!" line never gets old. It still cracked me up even though I knew precisely what was coming up.
