Most of Destruction's stuff sounds terrible just because of poor production

I recommend Sentence of Death + Infernal Overkill (album)

Wow, my Thread Revival Jutsu was really succesful, but I guess nobody got the new BG album yet, then?
Here's another awesome track featured on it:

You simply need to get "At The Edge of Time".

Sign me up on the metal bandwagon! I don't have a particular fav genre, but I'd say the dominant is melodeath. Some of my fav bands in no particular order are; Soilwork, Kalmah, Dark Tranquillity, Insomnium, Soulfly, Noumena, In flames, Trail of Tears, Behemoth, Arch Enemy, Demon Burger (dimmu borgir Xd). Sirenia...And some classics like Metallica, Carcass, Iron Maiden and Paradise Lost.

carcass' late albums were very "pop" compared to their earlier but they were so addicting

True, they went through a big style change with Heartwork, one that works in my favour

I was going to start a Metal thread but I decided to try and revive an old one instead. Metal is not my primary genre, but lately I've been delving into it quite a bit. I really don't like mainstream Metal though, Iron Maiden, Metalica, Black Sabath, etc... but I do like some fairly mainstream bands like Death, Opeth, Children of Bodom, In Flames, etc... but there is just so so so much more to Metal, I just keep digging and digging and I can never shake that feeling like I've barely scratched the surface. So here are some of my favorites thus far:

Other Metal bands I'm quite fond of: ...And Oceans, Isis, Arsis, Graves at Sea, The Chasm, Arkangel, Excoriate, Yob, Terzig de Horde, Windam Hell, The Red Chord, oh there's too many to name...

Big FOUR? To my knowledge, there are only three big Teutonic Thrash bands – Sodom (personal favorite), Destruction (second best, especially their later work on which Schmier is present again) and Kreator (who I have a hard time getting used to because of Mille's voice).

I really dislike the death metal genre. The screaming gets way to obnoxious.

Rock Epic? Awesome. Though not my forte.

Let me rephrase; I hate it when the singers lyrics all include screaming or demonic tones. Occasional yells are okay.

Discovered these guys through last.fm

I completely agree with you on this! I try to spread my interests in many types of things... But when it involves screaming for the majority of the song I can't really get used to it.

This is also agreeable, only when the yelling is everywhere or it has demonic voices is when I tend to tune it off.

Stuff like Bullet for my Valentine, it borders on preferred and not. Some songs are good, but some just push past the brink of patience within me.

10 Years Today is a good one.

I just really hate the whole screaming with a passion, because most of these guys simply ROCK, but the vocals just ruin it.
