Samurai Champloo ~it's a bit on the mellow side, but it's a happy ending in my opinion.
Nodame Cantabile ~ends in an upbeat note.
Read Or Die (TV) ~it's a pretty happy ending, methinks.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann ~mm, i guess it's a happy ending too.
Monster ~a happy ending, methinks.

You know, being witty doesn't help anyone, especially on a suggestion thread. It's not a happy ending.

please... while I thought the Berserk anime ending was awesome in its own way, i wouldn't really suggest it to anyone, especially someone asking for one that "turns out well" lol

Well, I guess that's your own personal opinion. However, I don't think the OP wants your definition of a good ending. I believe that he doesn't want a bad ending (main characters die, break up, etc...), so the ending for Onegai Teacher is technically good, but analytically, that depends.

And also, I am pretty sure that SaiKano "doesn't end well for the main characters."

The title of this thread is EXTREMELY misleading. When I saw it, I immediately thought, "oh, this person wants to know which anime has the most well-written, well-produced and well-executed ending."

I did not think that they wanted a happy ending.

Also, happy endings suck.

Oh come on now, happy endings don't suck. I think that in my top ten, the ones with the happiest endings are, er, The Place Promised in Our Early Days and maybe Kimi ga Nozomu Eien.

Okay, okay, you're right. =P Most happy endings suck. There are the rare few that somehow have a light-hearted and pleasant ending that does not come off as contrived and trite.

My favorite endings aren't "bad ends" either. I prefer either "open" endings (i.e. Hoshi no Koe) where the ending is left open to the interpretation of the viewer, or content/relieved endings (such as the ending of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai).

Bad ends can be very entertaining, however. Sometimes more entertaining than the rest of the show. Nice boat!

Definately, Taiyaki chose the right girl in the end.

Eh, I kind of agree that most happy endings aren't very good, but I haven't liked many anime with happy endings.
And trite was probably my freshman year English teacher's favourite word, next to peruse and egregious (or was it heinous? I can never remember because I just associate her usage with one of the Bill and Ted words.)

This is where opinion comes in. A lot of people like closure in the end as opposed to one open to interpretation. I personally care little either way, but I'm not fond of endings that are too open.
I would say Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai had one of the happiest endings I'd ever seen.
Spoiler for Though probably not needed:

When people being up "Nice Boat", it doesn't really refer to School Days' actual ending, moreso to the fact that it was cancelled and delayed by many stations.

I know, it was a joke. I've seen the series, I was referring to the ending being a complete and total mind-rape.

Happy endings aren't the point. Closure. Whatever that means to the individual reader/viewer. That's what you look for in a good ending.
