They had an atmosphere around them ( if you care to watch the scene ), so him screaming is just typical manly GAR stuff. Also he probably did it on impulse.

Uh, no, they actually weren't. They are still in the cloud of debris and oxygen, when Alto gets back into the VF-25.

Great chase sequence, very nice. Nice homage to the Hikaru-catching-Minmay scene as well. Also, awesome BGM. 8D

For characters...

Alto: Hmm, at least he actually has some experience in flying unlike certain mecha pilots.

Ranka: The face! O_O" (at the find-that-pretty-pilot-okay,-oniichan? scene). (And upon finding out that she's Sheryl's rival): If I were drinking something, I'd spit it out for emphasis of my SRSLY?! reaction.

Sheryl: Nice clothes you got thar.
Cathy: Dammit, she's not in the triangle after all! ;______;
Michel: Space cowboy sniper man!
Luca: How the heck did he get in SMS?

My own personal thoughts on episode 2

Alto
I never caught on to this before but Alto's initial reason for wanting to fight the Vajra was because of Gilliam's sacrifice. It seemed more like Alto wanted to avenge Gilliam's death, and was rightfully put down for that. Alto also continues to show his changing opinon towards Frontier in this episode

Sheryl
Nice taste in langerie. Also Diamond Crevasse Acapella, I want to hear her sing the whole song in acapella. Also she can write in French, I thought this when I read the manga, but maybe she's half french from her father.

Ranka
Creeper face, also I found it interesting that she mistook Alto for her brother, and then didn't catch on to the fact that Alto was upset dispite him showing it on his face. (foreshadowing much?) They really got to make her hair stop moving like that, its distracting and it makes her seem even more younger than she actually is.

Grace
Seems like the supportive big sister/motherly figure.

Cathy
Is the Frontier military that strapped for talented pilots?

Vajra
Interesting how a simple hum from Ranka can just set them off.

Leon
Will betray the president, but before he does he should invest in a good barber and get a respectable haircut.

One of my biggest problems with Ranka is how young they portray her. To me, she is like a little kid just going to middle school for the first time. It would have been much better if they made her a little more mature. I don't expect or want her to be on the same level as Alto or Sheryl (need contrast and all) but don't make her out to be a little kid.
