He's a he. He's one of the town's leaders, perhaps the top one. He's much older than he looks. Judging by how he seems to know when Mr. Fox is active, he's probably very powerful as well. I can't say too much more about him or the woman with him without going into manga spoilers.

That butterfly sticker wouldn't have gone well with the image they were trying to portray of Hime And JUST TUNES has become one of my favorite songs for this fall.
And incidentally, thats the cover art of the manga just released in my country. On good quality paper too...

One of the things I like about this series is how they embed little nuggets of character information in a seemingly casual conversation. Like how in episode 2, we learned that Kotoha used to be a human. Here in episode 3, we learn that Tuning has negative physical consequences for Akina that could possibly lead to his early death. I wonder if his friends are aware of that?

During that fight in episode three (the monster part), Akina and Hime were really lucky that talking is a free action. Otherwise they would have attacked during their conversation right in front of an angry monster.

On the one hand, I'm enjoying the show. The interaction between the characters, getting to know them. On the other hand, everytime Fox boy shows up on the screen, my enjoyment level drops dramatically. The more screentime the villain type characters get, the worse the show becomes. I think theres a direct correlation between enjoyment, and villains screentime. After 3 episodes, I'm going to have to struggle to watch the 4th, just because they keep pulling that crap. Lose the Fox, and the show becomes quite enjoyable.
