Remember the last line to "Magical Mystery Cure":
What do think it means? I can think of it as the following:

Sayaka: Turn me into a Magical Girl and grant my wish! Kyubey: Yay. As far as the Japanese voices go, Twily--Sounds about the same. Fluttershy--The easiest voice a Japanese female could do. Applejack--I like it. More cutesy than I expected though. Rainbow Dash--Could you make her any more androgynous? Pinkie Pie--Sounds about the same. Rarity--

Looks like Equestria Girls may get a theatrical release (in selected markets, and on a limited basis):

Why 'My Little Pony' Is About to Get Even Creepier:
"Hasbro recently announced a My Little Pony spinoff movie, titled My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, which will hit theaters next month. In Equestria Girls, all of the ponies are transported to another universe where they transform into teenage girls to face the trials of high school life, because without question that's what every fan of a magical universe of talking ponies wanted this movie to be. The fact that the movie will be impossible to follow because the dialogue will be drowned out by the deafening cheers of a legion of grown men delighting over their favorite ponies finally being blessed with canonized tits and miniskirts isn't the only reason a My Little Pony movie is a disaster waiting to happen. Picture the three key groups of MLP fans: little girls, "bronies" (i.e., adult male aficionados of the show), and furries. Now, picture all of those people intermixing in the same dark movie theater. It's tantamount to tossing kids into a haunted house full of loud, self-important 20-somethings and terrifying sexual fetishists." See: http://www.cracked.com/quick-fixes/w...even-creepier/ |

Also, what makes them think that most bronies are actually going to be seeing this in theaters? Not only is the film going to be in limited release, but also, the Equestria Girls film is causing quite an uproar among them (with the big issue, besides the fact that it's pretty much the brainchild of a Hasbro executive to milk off the surprising success of My Little Pony, being the concern that the film will be the complete opposite of what Lauren Faust was trying to do when she originally developed Friendship is Magic).

I think part of the reason is because the animation looks better than the previous generation of the show and the voice acting. That's just my personal opinion on it though. I have no idea why there is a large male audience I really don't...I heard its made for the whole family therefore they didn't make it too too girly but I still don't understand why. Meh

1. The show's concept is similar to those "slice of life" cartoons that were popular in the 1990's (i.e. Recess, Rugrats), resulting in a nostalgia feel to those people who grew up at that time; 2. There's a lot of great humor in this show both visually and verbally that's similar to the Golden Age of cartoons (i.e. Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry); 3. In a time where most of the popular cartoons for adults are starting to feel stale, Friendship is Magic comes off as a nice alternative (and definitely less mean-spirited).

Twilight Sparkle being an alicorn, to me, isn't that different from when Sailor Moon was revealed to be Princess Serenity.

Being a woman and former fan of the show, I don't understand why it is so popular with men. In fact most, if not all fanarts in deviantArt are drawn by men and no from preteen girls. Maybe they are too young to have a DA account yet.
It safe to say My Little Pony succeed where K-On! failed. As for K-On! it was obviously made for men but at the end preteen girls who appreciated it better. Why? At least from some men I met they said K-On! is too girly for their liking and not to mention there is too few fanservice to speak of. |
