LOL at Kanako persistently missing the swimming lessons that she's been looking forward to for some of the most outlandish reasons. And just when she thought she took all precaution, it rains.

Of course, Mariya couldn't resist heaping more misery onto her by having her personality reprogrammed again to like men fundoshis (loincloth) instead of school swimsuits.

When Kanako thought she could take out her wrath by humiliating Mariya in public, it was not hard to guess that's actually Shizu, considering Mariya's deviousness. And again, we're not disappointed. Though the unintended effect is that Kanako's inability to get turned on by swimsuits has finally been cured.

All in all, a wacky last episode befitting of a wacky series. If you're looking for something with depth, I suggest looking somewhere else. But if you want to relax and have a good laugh, this show is for you.

Spoiler for Cliffhanger ending:

True to its tradition, even the last episode gets a cliffhanger, that stops before anything even gets revealed. Seems to hint at a second series.

Oh, and if I am not mistaken, I spot Negima, Zetsubou Sensei and Hidamari Sketch girls all at the pool near the beginning. Not surprising considering who the director for those series is.

I do agree about the cliffhanger -- but the way they did it, it could well have been an intentional sudden end. XD Didn't Mariya mention a hrm at the rosary too, though, earlier..?

All in all, I think Maria Holic has been very unique, and pretty fun too -- just don't look too deeply into it. The art and animation were very nice as well~

As it's been said a few times already, a second season has not been announced yet. It's just that the director, Akiyuki Shinbo believes one should happen.

Oricon ranking for the first day DVD sales is quite bad so I'd say unlikely. It's still better than all other Winter 2009 anime DVDs that released today, though.

Today Maria holic is a bit higher on the chart, but still nothing amazing...

I just hope that the numbers are enough to please the production, there's a lot of high selling title in the chart, so it's not that unlikely (it's still above Marimite which usually has pretty decent sales).

Anyway, this has been the most enjoyable ep since ep 6. Father Kanae reminded me alot of Kyon when he's doing his soliloquies . Love the part with him and the dorm mistress as well. Mariya subtly calls Matsurika beautiful.

The only thing that sucked was how the text was slowing down the video. This stupid old pc just can't handle it .

Yeah, not only was the text ****ing annoying, it was a system hog.

If you ask me, the Father reminds me of people who play too many eroge and dating sims that they start thinking in that mode. Notice how his thought process sounds eerily close to someone who plays those kinds of games.

But Dorm Mistress still wins the show. Her blase way of phrasing things is absolutely hilarious that a show based around her dealings with the residents and her dog could make for a delightfully entertaining experience.

I don't see what's so similar about them, i mean you people talk as if they're completely the same. Kanako is a dirty old pervert in disguise, and the Father is just a nut who falls in love easily and jumps to his own conclusions.

He narrates all his thoughts and dictates them to his dead mother and stares at/fantasizes about the girls at the school. On top of that he's the only other character who questions "God" and her ears.
