I believe your friend C-kun will have a degree in space engineering right?
You should ask him to make your dream come true... *And no it doesnt walk. So far they only build one for standing and the other one attached to the truck for transporting it. |

Wow, they’re pretty confident about this project, aren’t they? They already planned that far in the future for this ‘Next Generation’ Patlabor.
Anyway, I’m glad they decide to go with an original story (sequel) instead of adapting the old anime into real life. This kind of move is exactly what I wanted filmakers to do when someday they made Gundam or Macross live action. Also, Kenji Kawai, one of my favorite composer is here!

Yeah Kenji Kawai woot woot. Though I have my reservations about Oshii's ability as a live-action director.
His anime films are top-notch, but the man can't do live-action! Most of his live-action films (Avalon, Assault Girls etc) were just an extension/translation of the anime style which simply does not work in a different medium, at all. That's the same mentality which seems to be quite pervalent with many anime directors branching out to do live-action and the end products were always inadequate. It would be alright if Oshii serves in a producer/writer/consultant capacity, but they should really hire a genuine (and ofc reputable) film director for it, like Yamazaki Takashi of Always/Yamato fame.. |

The official site confirms Oshii's role as the director of the live-action series. Note that everything is in Japanese and all links are live, including the character profiles.
