I came back to ippo after 1-2 years of break. What I see now is a piss of shit not ippo manga I knew. Even when it was slow something happened.
This last 5 chapters which I read made me not wanting to read the chapters I didn't read (about 200+ or so). Its a fucin lame joke what this manga become. And 936 made the deal. 13 pages of what, same talk same BS and ippo jumping in. Next chapter what he will get closer to him?
Even captain tsubasa 30 minutes run trough a field was more exciting than this.

I am not a Ippo reader, I merely love the animes and sometimes check in here to see what's going on and spoil myself.

I am not really understanding the critics. I am not a reader because I found the manga unreadable because the fights were super slow / long. I tried to read it before New Challenger came out, but I was not able to read till the ending point of new challenger.

Did it really become worse ? I suspect that it appears slow to you now because you are done with the catching up and you have to actually wait one week between chapters of nothing.

I guarantee the chapters of nothing were there from day one.
