Get Backers (sux ass only watched 8 episodes and gave up)

Kekkaishi( Couldnt watch more than 5 episodes ( Sux too much farts outta Cartman's ass)
Kenichi( Didnt really like it that much)
X the movie ( fuckin rocked, didnt know there was an anime though, how is it btw?)

you said no mecha but one of the greatest shows to date is Code Geass which is mecha, if you like Light in Deathnote, you'll love Lelouch in Code Geass

I second Rurouni Kenshin, Cowboy Bebop, and Samurai Champloo, for those were very exciting series and interesting to watch.

Gunslinger Girl is probably my favorite action anime of all time, so I would suggest that. Seirei no Moribito is light on action, but it has a wonderful plot.

Thx 4 the suggestion. I will check em out. Plz no serei no moribito. Thats the type of series I hate. Plz suggest some more. Ive watched the trailer for Gunslinger girl and i like it. Im currently downloadin the whole anime. Ive also watched all Inuyasha movies. I never finished watchin the anime ( wasnt really my style) but the movies are so sick.

I was gonna say Code Geass but....if you don't mind a little mecha then go and watch it. Let's see....Kiddy Grade, Dragonaut (on going), My-Otome (since you've already watched My-HiME), Shakugan no Shana, and Utawarerumono. I might still be missing others

Darker than black: It has alot of action and the storyline is great.
Speed Grapher: Similiar reasoning to above
Overdrive(This is a sport anime): It's about cycling. It's got that "loser who gets strong with determination" thing from naruto.
Air Gear: Also a sport anime, quite a bit of action and very entertaining.
Spiral ~Suiri no Kizuna~: I think most people who like death note may enjoy this. It's nowhere near as good as death note but still worth watching.

That Avatar is from Death Note, believe it or not the guy is actually just writing, but its still an epic kick ass series.

Speed Grapher is also really good, lots of great action and lots of great storytelling.
Black Lagoon is also one of my favorites, its got a lot and I mean alot of fast paced action.
Darker than Black is also kind of like Black Laggon, but while there isnt much action in the series the story is great and when there is action it just kicks ass.
Ergo Proxy I can't say much yet about this series other than that Im just loving it, Im just 3 episodes in its pretty good.
Ghost in the Shell is probably my most Favorite show out there, all of the movies and both tv series are very good. and its a pretty mature series too.

and last but not least Monster its a pretty dark show, it does have its heartwarming moments but it is really dark. the beginning might seem a little slow paced but it really picks up after ep 4.

TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN --- If you liked Ikki TOusen and Tenjho Tenge, you'll LOVE this series. I know I did. Fanservice + bad-ass GARness = PURE WIN.

Sry but no mecha 4 me. I freakin erased Gunslinger after 6 episodes. Too boring.

Kekkaishi owns after 10 episodes. It's a pity you dropped at 5. Those cool barriers and greater, stronger monsters are gone out of your sight for life

Again, Gunslinger Girl is great, and you dropped after 6.. let's just say we have very different taste..

Death Note is pretty much the sickest series I've ever seen. The mangaka must have been a genius to write such a kickass storyline. Seriously, you MUST watch it. Just watch the first 2 episodes to see if you like it. I haven't met a person who hasn't to be honest. Please don't judge it by just the first episode because its not that great compared to the second and the others. The second one is where the plot really comes alive...
