[Manga] Chapter 426 Discussion

Welcome to the weekly manga chapter discussion thread. This thread is created early to discuss spoilers and speculation about the upcoming chapter.

As per the forums rules, please don't ask for or mention about where to download the (licensed) manga. Also remember not to post or link to any translations of the manga, since this is illegal as well. Posting a synopses or summary is fine (and welcome) but please do not discuss scans, raws, translation groups, etc.

Remember that the manga is licensed, do not post significant part of the chapters. This stands for pictures and direct translations. Summaries are ok, crops of pictures are ok as well if you want to illustrate your point but this is it.

first kakashi is dead

Spoiler for spoiler:

The chapter opens with an interrogation by Jigokudou Pain. Two annonymous Konoha shinobis get extracted what look like their souls by a giant summon creature.

Konohamaru, who has been spying on the scene gets spotted by Pain (and now in danger) but Ebisu sensei steps in to save him.

Scene switches to the Code Breakers.

Again, it switches to Naruto in training. He is having a tough time but the scene ends with a frame in which he vows never to give up as the code carried by Fukasaku is a message for him (from Jiraiya).

Ebisu is in trouble. (Pain orders him to tell him where Naruto is or else) A quick flashback of him (Ebisu) and Naruto. Then he tells Pain that he will never tell as Naruto is one of Konoha. Just as Pain delivers the final blow, Konohamaru throws shurikens at Pain. Looks like they (Konohamaru & Jigokudou Pain) will fight next week.

Again, all we see of Naruto's training is nothing but a BS "I Won't Give Up." Shit...seriously...I don't know why Kishi continues to throw in pages of the main character if his purpose is to be just BS...geez...at least give the dude a whole chapter of BS and some real shit...make it less obvious of his BS.

Welcome to Shounen, where confidence matters more than any actual power .

(Hell, Shounen manga One Piece even turned ambition/confideance into an actual weapon that the characters can use.)

That being said, I have to agree, the pics so far are very boring. Kishimoto seems to have literally made a concerted effort to focus on characters absolutely no one cares about (Konohamaru and Ebisu, of course). So, I applaud Kishimoto's efforts (it takes skill to ruin the pacing this much in just a few pages), even if I hate his choice.

I don't know..... Where is the proof Kakashi is dead? There wasn't a definitive death sequence to me. The fact this chapter turned away from Kakashi completeley leads me to believe he may still be coming back. GRRRR, this is annoying. I want to know!

Kakashi is still having his dream sequence...he'll awake surrounded by Pein's who are revealing their next body...Jiraiya!

And then Naruto shows up in the nick of time to exact his revenge.

At least that's me hoping...

Ha, the Shonen Jump Cover Preview said Shikamaru would solve Pain's mystery. So much for that. Never trust previews.

Konohamaru and Ebisu? No Kakashi? I have a feeling this chapter won't go down as one of the better ones.

It seems from the spoiler, Naruto's never give up attitude and resolve.

IMO Tsunade's slug's will save him But it will need time till he recover's from using MS. So he will be unable to participate further in this fight.

Let's hope. Then again, who is going to save Konohamaru? Maybe Kakashi does get a power up of some sort and saves little Kono's butt! We just have to wait and see.

Come on... i would love to see how Konohamaru is doing his progress as a Ninja who aim to be Hokage as well... he is a Sarutobi after all. Ebisu is praised as an elite teacher, he is not a fighter, so, let's see. Maybe Kishi will show us something refreshing.

How about a team like this: Naruto, Sakura, Shikamaru and Konohamaru.

Kakashi dying would suck because it would just be another plot device to fire naruto up against pain
