Clannad series - Favorite Character(s) Poll (Final)

My vote goes for Kyou, well, she is my first favorite character after all, second would be Nagisa then Kotomi...

I always found exaggerated "kick ass" female characters to be extremely annoying. That being Tomoyo and Kyou.

I wanted to get 5 but Kotomi and Sanae having such a low amount of votes made me go to 7 :/

I can honestly say that there wasn't a signal named character that I didn't like (and, really, even amongst the characters that weren't given names, the only ones I didn't like were the soccer team... and it was pretty obvious that the viewer was meant to hate them, lol. ). It was a truly outstanding cast, from top to bottom.


However, I've heard that the idea with these favorite character polls is to try to keep it down to 4 or less, so that's what I did.

I picked Tomoya, Nagisa, Kotomi, and Fuko.

Tomoya and Nagisa... probably is the best, most well-rounded romance that I've seen in anime. Maybe one of the best in all of fiction, for that matter. They're two very strong and endearing characters.

Kotomi and Fuko were just such adorable and humorous characters for me, and I just loved their two character arcs in Season 1 of Clannad.

Alright, I have finally voted and here is what I have... it is quiet a long list since almost all of them made good impression on me^^
I'll put them in order they are given above

Spoiler for space:

Tomoya - if not him, so many characters would be having a very miserable lifes by now that it isn't even funny. I did want to smack him when he was mean with Ushio but thankfully he had snapped out of it. Poor guy, he had to suffer so much, I really wouldn't like to be in his shoes... Thankfully everything was fine in the end for him so...

Nagisa - I didn't really plan to vote for her but I guess I'll give her points for finally growing up.

Ushio - not big fan of kids but I must give her credit for being strong for those 5 years that Tomoya was ignoring her. She was raise as a really nice girl and she deserved happiness.

Sanae - her constant crying over the cake always cracked me up Also she is a very nice person and has quiet interesting personality... her act with Sunohara was one of my favourite moments with her

Akio - he has two sides to him... funny and carrying and I respect both of them. And basicly thanks to him Nagisa and Tomoya became those who they are.

Kyou - a really great character with a very great personality. Particulary all scenes with her were hillariouse. And even though sometimes she looked like she doesn't care, in reality she is very carrying... and I had missed her kickings in second season... Also I like how she became friends with Kotomi even though at first she didn't want to. Kyou practically became Kotomi's second best friend.

Ryou - you must admit it, without her we wouldn't have such hillarriouse moments as Nagisa/Ryou and 3 Okazaki's

Tomoyo - It is sad that she got the less screen time out of all Tomoya's friends... but she was the main reason why I started to watch the show because of all those kick ass moments that I kept seeing in AMV's constantly. Actually at those times I thought that she was some robot or emotionless girl I really had missed the whole beating seesions in season 2 and in 2nd half of season 1. I also like her carrying personality since she was nice to everyone, even to Sunohara from time to time^^ And to top it her Seiyu voices particulary all my favourite female characters (Soi Fon, Medusa, Sango)

Kotomi - didn't like her at first but her whole inoccense a cluelesness really got into me when her arc had started, the "Bonjour" scene still is my most favourite one. And her violin playing... Even the most badass characters won't handle it
I still wonder if Tomoyo really had liked her playing... because it really sounded like she did 0_0
Sad that Kotomi was mostly ignored afterwards.

Fuko - also didn't like her at first much but the whole effort she had put in order to make her sister happy and the whole pain she went through when people started to forget really deserves attention.

Sunohara - admit it, without him show would be twice less funny if not more. Almost all jokes were around him. Still think that Sunohara/Tomoyo would work perfectly
Also he is an idiot most of the time but she does have a character and can stand up for himself.

Misae - her arc is one of my favourites, really liked her story and she has a great personality both in adulthood and younghood. It is sad that the one she really loved couldn't stay with her. and I also like how she is throwing everyone around the dormitory

Shima - man... I still crack up at the scene when he says "I want to be with you forever" while being dressed as a girl And he makes such a CUTE cat! I adore cats^^
I really wish that he also was given a second chance and would get a human form back again.

Botan - eeehhh... a really cute piggy? Also liked how Botan was still whole day when was ordered and Tomoya had to carry him with himself :heh

Just took a quick look at the polls, I'm surprised Yoshino Yuusuke has such few votes considering he was one the one main reasons that led to Tomoya's character development. Then again, for some strange reason, i didn't vote for him. That couldn't have helped...

I agree he did have a good bit on Tomoya's development, though at least he had more votes than poor ryou, she has soo few for being on the main cast though I didn't vote for her either.

Even though Yuusuke had big impact for Tomoya, he really bored me with his apperence, his talks were way too long and boring...

I kind of got mixed up which one was Yuusuke and which one was Tomoya when they had their helmets and uniforms on... all the time. Sometimes even when they're in their normal clothes too.

The three that made the show, in my opinion, were
1. Furukawa Akio
2. Sunohara Youhei
3. Yoshino Yuusuke

1. Akio because of the loveable caring father type figure, and his extremeties, and also because of the comedy between him and sanae.. Every other episode you woulod just randomly see him chase after sanae down the street with her bread stuffed in his mouth screaming "I LOVE IT!!"

2. Again, made up a good chunk of the comedy in this series - shame he wasn't in AS as much.. but still was great. I especially loved how tomoya lead him on all the time.. Like when we went through the whole episode believing sanae to be nagisa's sister ^_^ or the time when tomoya got mei to bring sunohara a clay statue.. classic xD

3. Ah this guy.. He was just cool. Nuff said. But I especially enjoyed the way he had his "epic speaches" and after a few people just said stuff like "oh there he goes again..." he was just hilarious ^_^ who knew lectures could be so fun..
