I so agree with Marina. Everyone is putting up entires already and you got unti lthe 14th anyway. I'm surprise people didn't do this last month when the theme was ecchi. XD
But anyway the theme seems to be reasonable. I'm working on mines this weekend.

Thanks all for the advice on extracting. If anyone has some spare time and wants to try, I can post up what I was trying to cut out - it's a syringe. The issue is with the needle part. It's against a white background, so the needle itself looks whitish against dark backgrounds. The best bet would probably be to rebuild it (unless I'm using the clone stamp tool, I'm pretty inexperienced at rebuilding). I decided to use something else so I won't be needing the cut out syringe anymore, but the tips are very good to know for the future
I had the same thoughts. The line of thinking sort of went from an elated "wow, that looks really nice!" to a depressed "I don't know if my work can stand up to that" Doubly depressing since I'm 90% done with my first effort... I'll try to make another, but I like the concept with the first so much that I'll probably end up using it anyway.

^ Needle you say? What I just do is to use the pen tool to go around the outline of the needle, select inverse, then delete the background.
I say...stop taunting the weak hearted with uber siggies Even I am a bit shaken up already

ooh fantastic, if I wasn't already plagued by not having any creative spark what so ever, now my laptop's graphic card and monitor are falling apart......YAY!
@KiNa, problem with going with anything Sekirei is there isn't anything Sekirei to use and I don't feel like searching for a scan to colour, waaaay to lazy for that

Don't worry, you're not the only one who feels that way I've already had to toss out my first signature when I saw everyone else's. But of course the competition between everyone is what makes this fun.

Maybe there's the reason why one should have the contest as anonymous. While understandable, it's still kinda sad some graphic designers are disheartened long before the voting phase has even begun.
In any case, I really like this contest. Last months sigs were beautiful, though if I had to vote I'd vote for Rikers as it was lolhilarious to me. Hopefully this contests runs for a while.

Intimidation is one of the keys to knocking out your competitors.
Just because your sig isn't as bedazzled or glamorous doesn't mean it's horrible. Some people prefer simplicity over complex design. Anyway, like they always say, "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder." Do your best... |

Anonymous you say? I believe people on this forums are voting on the signature and not on the person who made it, and even if it was anonymous the only difference would be that people would know which signature didnt get any votes, but not knowing that you made it. Im happy with the rules we have they are there for a reason and im sure they are well thought, again i believe Solace did a good job writing them. Edit: geez im not sure i understand what i typed myself. I hope people get what i ment Last edited by Avantoe; 2008-02-27 at 17:41. |
