Isn't it rather ridiclous to think that if Battler proves it wasn't magic everyone is revived? I mean how does it happen.. magic doesn't exist.. and if magic didn't kill them.. than they were killed by human means. Such a hollow victory it would be... I think a lot of game players still don't get this... if he wins he loses since he's dead.. this situation reminds me of what happens in VN 4 too someone...

I think whether Battler wins or loses doesn't matter, there's no way for the dead to come back alive. But at least he can find the true culprit.

Isn't the whole a "knife in the back" murder typically used in a "the butler did it" parody?

While his reality is one where everyone dies, the only thing he can do is create a world where the family doesn't die. Somehow.

Yeah, good luck with that without some form of magic to help you Battler.

Every time the grotesque scene is censored with pixel boxes, I laughed. Granted, it's not like I want to see what is actually there, but those pixels are really mood killers. Not to mention those beam katars.

PS: Jesus Battler, stop using the chessboard analogy.

Well, so far Battler only has the chessboard and Devil's Proof to use...

Two important questions it seems like nobody's asking:

Where's Piece-Beatrice?
Where's Kinzo?

(Admittedly, all the characters have a lot on their minds, but it seems like those are both important things to know.)

The fact that "his" body evaporated would seem to work against that theory.

Which then raises the question, who killed Nanjo and Kumasawa in "reality"?

EDIT: Also, Evil!Kanon just threw off the Epitaph--the next two deaths should have been "Gouge the head and kill" and "Gouge the chest and kill". Instead, they both died of cuts to the neck. I wonder if they'll count, and that will be important?

It was stated at the end of the previous episode that Kinzo is in his study and refuses to leave. Shannon and Genji are both seen meeting with him as well and Rosa claims she did so too.

-_-

Say Battler proves magic didn't kill his family. That doesn't mean that magic doesn't exist. How else are you supposed to explain the Meta-World?

No, I don't think it will end like that. That'd be a slap in the face for the fans, to start with.

Well, Battler doesn't need to prove that magic itself exists. While he doesn't believe in it, it's clearly in front of him. What he just needs to prove is that the murders on October 4-5 are all done by human tricks.

go for the usual "the butler did it" theory, since Genji had been seen grabbing a knife in the kitchen.
(damnit genji, killing your opponent is not a nice way to revenge for a loss in chess)

Or another way to say it, he has to try and show that magic doesn't have to exist on the game board. The Meta World is clearly another story, and Battler hasn't claimed that magic doesn't exist in the Meta World.

I record what i think are MUST SEE scenes fromt the last 2 episodes but in the sound novel, if anyone who is only watching the anime wants to see them you will notice how epic those scenes were in the sound and also you will heard dread of the grave

i agree... I don't think people watching the anime should look at things from the VN before the end of the serie because it could be like Maria's description of the circle: It was no explained a the same time than in the VN, but was explained in the end...

He did indeed!
But remember Beato is the Endless Witch,So she could always bring them back to life and do it properly if you're leaning towards the "Magic" side.
I can't think of an anti-magic argument for it because I <3 Witches.

SHORT REVIEW:
I found the pacing kind of poor in this episode actually,as well as some of the animation just terrible (When Rosa is talking to the children after the Servants have left look at George's face, and at one point during the meta-world Beato's face looks all askew!)

When DARK!Kannon falls on the kitchen floor I felt that even thought the hole was in his chest, that the puddle of blood was so unnessesary and large. Also, wouldn't human blood from a hole in that area squirt like a geyser and not just..pour out like that?
Lame Censorship remains lame, but I felt that the Epic Throat slit by DARK!Kannon made up for that tenfold.
Over all I give it a 7,because they kept most of the important things in tact.
