I only watched the anime, and was totally disappointed with the ending..

Any information on what the total volumes will be for this manga? It's up to 31 now, so I hear.
i think at least 40ish... this fairy arc will probably take 3-4 volumes and if it decides to end the arc after that will probably fill the rest.

Thumbs up

I just caught up with the manga, and wow I don't know what to say, I love it when it starts like a regular story and then it gets spookier and spookier.
I seriously can't wait three month to read the next 10 pages thou I guess I will have to forget about it for now and come back in ten years when the elf king arc is over ( if there's one ).

You can't say that. The manga is still ongoing.

I love this manga. What really caught my eye was the opening to it when he was doing the "woman." My friend was reading it and I was like "What are you reading?!?! In school?!" Then he let me have it. It was awesome.

i think i understand your peoblem. and you may or may not gotten an answer to it.. as far as berserk chapters go.. isnt it showing Guts meeting up with griffith(or what once was griffith) on Vol. 1 and then showing flash backs of his old memorys from when him and griffith met, and the whole ordeal with the hawks and all? Im not absolutely sure, i only have mangas 1-13, so..

There are only 32 volumes right now right?

Kills me that we can't see all this animated, it would of been sweet.

Easily my favorite manga ever, it's just so awesome!

I'm on volume 26 now.

I got one of my friends to start watching the anime and he liked it (except the ending ofcourse hehe). So when I downloaded the manga I got him to start reading it as well. But he didn't last a whole volume... he said that the manga was too messed up for him with all the cannibalism and sex... it was too much for him to handle hahaha

It just reached 33 volumes, and the story is still interesting The wait between each chapter really kills me so I just started reading the manga all over again

It comes out pretty slowly because Miura draws all the art by hand. At minimum I think there will be 1 chapter out a month. Not sure about maximum. But once I saw 2 chapters a month.

Yeah like psycho bolt said... 2 a month is what it's usually like (1 chapter every 2 weeks). But there was one time last year that Miura decided to take a little vacation and didn't write a chapter for a couple months.

Might have been more than a couple of months too, I forgot.

Well that's not so bad, much better than once a month like Claymore.

I'm not at the end but does it look like the manga will end anytime soon?

Not even close. I think I remember the author saying not too long ago it's only about at the halfway point.

Hmmm well if he's halfway done the manga right now and he's been working on it for almost 20 years... he'll be in his 60's by the time it's done, provided that he keeps pumping out chapters at the pace he's going...

so let's hope he lives a healthy life and makes it to that age!!!

well, just in case the manga never gets finished by the current artist, then there are always anime writers, who are experts in creating good endings! yes

Oh, the dripping sarcasm

The longest recent break was around five months or so. Miura likes to take his time, although apparently he had health issues. Also, I'm not sure if this was mentioned here before or not, but I remember reading that Miura said things should speed up now that they no longer need to draw thousands of soldiers in each panel. Of course, right after that we had another break right in the middle of a battle.

It's funny how the quality of monthly manga (like Claymore or Vampire Knight) isn't really any better than that of weekly releases (not that they are bad - I like them well enough). Of course, Berserk is neither, and is in a category of its own anyway.

Most monthly manga clearly look better than weekly manga to me, they generally have better developed storylines as well.
