Announced via CM following the final Kyoukai no Kanata, the Tamako Market movie, Tamako Love Story, will begin screening on April 26, 2014. The main staff will return, (Director Yamada, Scriptwriter Yoshida, Chief AD Horiguchi) as well as the main cast.

I wouldn't be too surprised if the love story was actually about the Prince and Choi.

Well this is unexpected... I wasn't particularly excited at the announcement of a new Tamako project, but the idea of a movie that might deal with the love triangle is a lot more interesting than I was anticipating. Tamako's expression also hints at the movie at least being somewhat serious or even depressing.

Considering how much I disliked Tamako Market, I didn't expect much out of any sequel KyoAni had in store for it. But the title of the film, combined with Tamako's very serious expression in the promotional image has me quite intrigued. Notice that her hair has been cut, most likely recently, and in a very uneven and incomplete manner, suggesting that she's cutting it herself. Are we in for some actual character development?

I'd feel devasted and trolled if it turned out that way, not because I think it'd be a bad idea, but seeing that poster gives me the impression we'll be getting to know more about Tamako deeply as a character and how she feels about whatever will happen in the movie. As nice as the idea was make a show about the people around the core character, and I like it a lot too, it still left me a little anxious wanting to know Tamako's point of view as a character. That's why I hope this movie satisfies that want of more 'Tamako', especially since it seems like it could work out really well(should it be about Tamako that is) IMO.

....but yeah I should take some people's advice here and die down my hopes in case it hits me really hard in the future.

If a more serious take on the romance and love triangle is what the staff meant by powering up Tamako, then I wouldn't mind having that at all. Maybe we'll even find out a little about her mum as well.
