Yeah, I guess it's just that next to Medaka and that guy that can dodge ALL THE THINGS, Munakata seems to pale in comparison. Ah well, I guess we'll just need to wait till next week and see how what Mr. Knife-in-head brings to the table stacks up.

Spoiler for Season 2 Episode 6:

As Medaka and friends are trapped in a mysterious basement, Akune encounters Youka Naze, a mysterious scared girl covered with bandages and Itami Koga, a athletic girl with clownesque poses. As he explains his past on why he harasses Medaka, a piece of Itami's flashback leading her normal life which is changed in a way by Youka was shown. Suddenly, Maguro appears to save Akune's day. A very fun episode coupled with Medaka's cuteness and exposition of Youka's panties, filled with flashy fights and decent amount of flashbacks. The next episode will offer plenty of fanservice in one fight while exposing more hints (I can't wait to see Youka's true face as well).

Pacing still worries me a bit they don't need to be going quite this fast in order to finish the arc in 12 episodes so I'm wondering what their using the extra space for or if it'll slow down considerably soon.

I was very pleasantly surprised that they left him without a voice. At this point in the story he's mostly mysterious. I think showing his face or hearing his voice would ruin what the story is trying to do with him, which is to set him up as this "unreal" sort of figure.

It wasn't that as fast as in the previous episode - just 3,5 chapters.
Damn, BTOOOM! has already adapted 27 chapters after the first 6 episodes, and the 1st Medaka Box season (the whole 12 episodes) adapted only 23.

Also on the one hand I think that the way they've done Kumagawa's speech like in the silent film was quite interesting and mystical, but one the other hand I'm still interested in how they'll show Kumagawa's 「」 speech pattern with voice acting.

How did Naze made it to fourth? Really, one wonders whether Medaka Box would have sold way better if another character other than Medaka was the MC.

The meta-story wouldn't make any sense if she wasn't the MC though. I do find it funny that Naze's on that list when she's not even a heroine though. She's a villain!

Naze is a fun and sexy character, but my favourite still goes to that great non-equal.
