Overall this OVA just rocks man. Sound, Graphics and storyline they are all very nicely done.

By the way, the UN SPACY fleet still uses the Arleigh Burke Class DDG as an escort

DUDE we encoded with 5.1 as well what's wrong with our 5.1 we prolly even used the same dvd raws lol!

anyways our eps 2 and eps 3 so far is 5.1 redoing eps 1 with 5.1 we as well made a codec for the ac3 with max gain
http://www.anime-infusion.org/ac3filter.DW.Dolby2.exe
feel free to get better sound quality.

BTW i dont think NL hit the spots when it comes to macross technical points like infusion hits the spots. 4 outta 5 of the ppl who worked on it knows macross like back of their hands we do quality look in our credits and you will see how proud we are >

Hey I tried to get Inf version when i first was getting Zero. What codecs do i need to play sound on it. It wouldn't work so i ended up getting Ricebox version. But i would like to check out your version too since it seemed a bit nicer in picture quality.

it rocked

cant wait for the 4th ova in spring 2004 dammit, thats like 4 months away or more.

i already have an ac3 codec but i was wondering, is the gain lower on your encode, i had to up mine alot.

cant wait for this to finish, this is prolly the only series im actually put all to svcd.

or if a group out there would be so nice as to put out a svcd version? i say svcd due to the higher resolution you can make it.

anywho yay it rocked, now imma gonna have to wait again wahhhhhhhhhhhh.

I'm lovin' the Valkeries, but I'm still bored to tears with the characters, storyline, and music.

I'm one of the old fans (a good number of people on this board weren't even born yet when I became a fan) (GAWD that's fun to say!!!), and I don't think this series has yet to come close to the OS, Mac+, or even Mac7. (Mac 2 currently holds the Kempis Curious Award for Worst Anime I've Ever Seen.)

Mac0 isn't bad, but I'm disappointed so far. It doesn't seem they went all out and spent a lot of money on character designers, writers, and song writers like Mac+ did. How can it even be Macross without memorable music? Or some of the world's best music like the other 3 Macs?

Hikaru Ichijo, Firebomber, Isamu Dyson, and .... uh... I just watched it and can't remember his name.

All this time I've been using the AC3 filter releases at http://ac3filter.sourceforge.net/ and I had to blast my speakers to hear the audio, but the version you provided improves it a hundred fold. Any idea why?

BTW: I can't wait for the re-encoded version of EP01!

Oh... no wonder its so much softer. Too bad I don't have a 5.1 setup to enjoy the effects.

yo what's with all the sound talk? I noticed it was a bit low too even when I cranked it up. Anyways the fighting was even better than in the last two, the story is so & so so far but damn.. that was one of those good 30mins you'll never experience in a long while again. good stuff and amazing fight scenes.

Man, I've been into anime since the late 70's, and I have to say that if Macross II was the worst anime you've ever seen, you've lived a blessed life...

Personally I disliked Mac 7 much more then Mac 2, but only by a marginal amount. I thought Mac 2 had some good ideas occassionally at least, but bad direction and execution (not to mention just boring at times and with uninspired, bleak production design). Good mecha designs, nice that it followed up on the DYRL continuity rather than the TV series, the Marduk were slightly interesting. I can't believe some people thought the Minmay Attack used in the beginning was actually using Minmay, though. She would have been pretty damn old by then if it was her, lol. They were using the technique, as they had relied on for too many battles by now, not the performer herself.

Mac 7 just annoyed me too much. Way too formula and cheesy for my taste. Good music at least.

But neither series are anywhere near as bad enough to make my worst anime category by a good ways...at least I could watch these through (well, I gave up on Mac 7, but I would have watched more if shown it).

As for the overpowered stuff issue in Mac 0, I think this is just typical revisionism. The same thing was true for the Gundam OVA's...I think the idea is that you just have to imagine that this is Macross told based on current interpretations of the technology, and if Macross itself were retold in this fashion, it's likely the mechs would be that much better and cooler by that much in turn (such as that nifty control system for the VF-0)...

Unless thier fighting battlepods, and power armors from the orginal macross i don't think we can judge the powerlevel. The VF-1 is vastly more powerful than its' father unit. It has a better powerplant, is faster, has the more armor options, from the full armor version to the super version, and the strike(movie) version.
It's an illussion created by the better graphics. Personaly i've been having dreams of seeing a redone macross with this new level of animation.

personaly i loved it, the old macross is what made me want to become a aerospace engineer in the first place, this just adds to the great saga.
