Yes, it would appear that Solomon really is dead, especially since Nathan told Diva that it's finally just himself and Amshel now. Then again, maybe we shouldn't believe it until we actually see Solomon's shattered body... I'm not going to hold my breath; he's dead as far as I'm concerned. The way he died though was a bit underwhelming. I expected something more than just being nicked by Saya's sword as it was falling to the ground.

I concur. But just three episodes left. I like Blood+ but the list of deficiencies in the anime series is growing. I respect Solomon for fighting the good fight but still.

His death was so stupid. I knew he would die protecting Saya, but like THAT? She doesn't even know he died. I doubt he'll ever get a mention again. I feel bad for his fans.

Saya's line to Hagi about how Kai has too promise and light to be with him and she can only be with Hagi..... ugh. There are no words. I don't know how they will explain Saya x Kai considering she isn't human, but I bet they pull out some deus ex machina to fix everything.

@ Haruka-Kun - Don't worry. People like Hagi. He's more popular than Saya anyway.

I'm just trying to measure how big of a disaster the conclusion will be. And yes, I will have some jokes to crack. A part of me still anticipates a great ending but as is, it's becoming increasingly difficult to take this show seriously. I really had high hopes and I don't understand why certain things just went so wrong...

Fantastic! Solomon is finally dead. And he died in the best way. No musical montage, long boring monologue, and better yet the series doesn't have any episodes left to do a pointless flashback clip episode.
First, the worst characters ever introduced in Blood+ are dead (one last Schiff to go), now Saya's annoying and oligatory alternative love-interest bites the dust.

I'm looking forward to the end of Blood+. I've pretty much given up on Saya's character. She's the poorest and weakest heroine to be called the world's last hope against whatever world domination/destruction. She totally under-qualified for everything. LouLou should take over as the hero. Even Mao would be better against Diva a slap fight. She can just die before immediate commercial break .
I can't wait for Collins and Argeno to have an ironic death.
And I can't wait to see Hagi's final action sequence (even though he's becoming so boring and one-dimensional---not even his wings help). Hagi can survive or die. I really don't care what happens to him as long as the final action sequence is better than the last 25 episodes. If Hagi dies, I want it to be gross and explosive like how the Schiff girl scattered----not like Solomon. If not, please make the ending for him so tragic it leaves everybody shaken for weeks.

As for the human characters like Kai and David, Kai should live to see the end result of Saya. If Saya dies, same tragic portions as Hagi's. Then he can get fatally killed an instant afterwards just to add more tragedy.
David---I more or less want him to have an explosive final action sequence that blows the mind away like Hagi's would be. But since David was guaranteed to die from the start of the series so I want it to a massive tragedy as well when he goes off. Julia should then let out waterworks for the cleanup crew to mop the gore and blood off. (But Julia lives though without a single scratch on her.)
The reporter guy, I hope he gets eaten by chiropterans and somebody takes a lot of pictures of him before and after.

Morbid, right? (cross-fingers for the end of Blood+)

I was actually talking about renderings of the characters; I thought their faces and limbs looked really awkward... as if they asked some interns to take over as they were running out of time.

And it's funny how so many people are complaining about the show... rondo's points especially were quite funny. ^_^

That line taken from wrex's recap conforts me in the fact that Diva is much more interesting than weak emo-Saya.

i seem to remember thinking that james was dead because he was crystalizing and his arm was cut off and he fell into a giant mile deep nuclear waste well, but we all know how that turned out

in this ep, we clearly saw james die... his whole body crystalized and a lot of it turned to dust

but solomon was not that way

they cut away before he copletely crystalized, so i don't buy it

annoying as it is, this series has a habit of not killing characters off fast enough

also, a question about 46:

Diva beat Solomon up. What can one say, it was self defense. Shes a queen so of course she's super strong.
As for Solomon, I understand what you mean but at the same time, we did see part of his face begin to crystalize. With James it was only the limbs. So I'm not certain that he will be coming back. Though this is very sad because I think he was my favorite chevalier.
Hagi, I love you but you are a coward when it comes to the ladies. And why are you still holding back?
I like Hagi's manga counterpart more. Ironicaly manga!Solomon really is scarey.

Diva is a queen - yes. Diva is 'super strong' - yes. But I have my doubts about the 'She's a queen therefore she's super strong' - theory. If that would be the case, why isn't Saya super strong too at this point? There is a missing thing in your interpretation. And I think it will be the 'character attributes' which decides the clinch between the two sisters in the end.
Diva is 'super strong' because of hatred, amorality and recklessness. And I guess it will be 'love' what makes Saya 'super strong' in the end. It'll make her even stronger, since Saya has many people who're really caring for her. So far as I can see Diva has only Nathan who admires her. And I don't know if this is a mutual relationship.
I think the only thing that Saya needs is a trigger to realize her strength. I'm curious about what it will be... Kai dieing off? Or Haji killed by Diva? Something like that if they decide to go with an emotional trigger.

But there's this other/lamer/technical trigger I can think of:
Saya indeed falls for her 30-year-beauty-sleep before the final battle takes place. Things are going ugly and they decide to give her Hajis blood like they give her in the Vietnam-incident - intravenously. Saya goes berserk.... Ok - that really would be lame

How about Haji sacrifice himself so Saya can drink all his blood (metaphorical for embodying him) so she then has the strength to defeat Diva? That would be better but sad.

Spoiler for who fought Solomon in ep. 46:

It was Diva who trashed Solomon because of their conversation: Nathan whines about the garden being a mess and says Diva overdid things. She apologizes but then blames Solomon.

As for why Diva is super strong: I think it's because she drinks blood while Saya doesn't. Yeah, she drinks those bags of blood, but it may not be the same as when Diva drains people of blood... and she may drink from more than one person.

I prefer this idea over her becoming stronger due to 'love.' A berserk anti-hero Saya is preferable over the current one in my opinion.

one, okay, so diva beat up solomon... why was he all cut up? does she have a different form? does she have claws or a sword? just wondering, cuz when she beat up saya or kai earlier in the series, or all those guys in the red shield ship, it was just punch/kick stuff, albeit super-strong punch/kick stuff. i think maybe this is just one of those things with the series that they are keeping in the shadows for possibly the final battle

two, @bluelotus and others... if you think about this having started with the Blood the Last Vampire film/short film, and Vietnam playing such an important role in the liives of all of the characters, then it makes sense for them to have to do the berserk rude awakening thing. but here's my theory: saya does fall asleep. they do indeed give saya haji's blood. she goes berserk. she kills nathan. maybe amschel. she is going to kill diva, but kai is somehow put in the way (maybe Diva uses him as a shield, maybe she forcibly makes him her chevalier, maybe he is stupid as usual). just as she's about to kill kai, she has flashbacks to George, Riku, and Kai and how she loved being a "normal" girl more than anything else. She realizes love of fammily is more important to her than anything else in the world. this brings her back to her senses, plus she has her berserk super-strength. she and diva have a massive episode long fight, destroying buliding and such. maybe they are back at the zoo (this would make sense dramatically, especially from Nathan's stagey theatrical POV). Saya finally kills Diva. Maybe Amschel gets away with the babies. Saya now cannot let Haji keep his promise because the babies are out there somewhere. She goes back into her cocoon knowing that she has saved her loved ones, at least for the time being. End of series. More OVAs and such later. Etc. Blah blah yada yada.

The way he died was just pathetic. The show takes all this time to take a character which seemed minor at first, then becomes a major character, does this whole character change from evil to good for 'love' and quickly dies in the end due to just one little slip of Saya's sword in James' hand. He doesn't even get any love from Saya either. PATHETIC. Before he died he also kept on mentioning that he needs to save Saya and he also told her that if she ever needed him she just needed to call out his name... Maybe he knew Saya won't even remember him so he just said that to be cool -__-; but... before her blood reached to Solomon's head, he could have just chopped off his one arm and the part of his shoulder and maybe live =__= Ugh, what happened to the strong Solomon we first saw? Oh yea, i forgot, LOOOOOOOOOOOVE. This love is killing off characters and the show =__= Solomon was my fave character too T.T

I'm sad at how this series ended up at this point. The first couple of episodes looked great... then after a while it became kinda boring with a few perks... then it gets really good around episode 30, and then takes a plunge into random-ness and love -__- This series could have been something great, but geh... something went wrong =(

... that would be a somewhat nice combination of both scenarios. How about this: Saya goes berserk due to Haji's blood and falling asleep in the first place (btw. when I first thought of this I believed this is indeed a very likely scenario - so I'm with you with that). But then: besides killing Nathan and Amshel - the berserk mode would be a good way to get rid of Diva's kids because Saya in that mode wouldn't be morally responsible so much for slaughtering 'babys'. The killing of the babys drives Diva even more crazy so it comes to the final encounter. Kai is somehow put in the way... Saya comes to her senses because she loves Kai and Diva alone gets away... (OVAs are following).

Or: the babys (who are the kids of Riku in the end) are getting away with Kai and Saya who somehow magically doesn't need to sleep for 30 years anymore and can grow old (Highlanders "Who wants to liiiive forever" from Queen comes to my mind ). And anybody is living happily ever after (as one can see in the following OVAs...)

Well - I'm partly kidding here

Nya... however - I'm curious how this works out. Only three episodes left...

I think only 'berserk scenario' would really be lame because somehow they have to go with Sayas emotions. Because this show isn't a simple gore-fest. It's a drama!
