Oh sorry, i worded it badly. On further thought, what's especially annoying probably not his speech, but the way he delivered it, which was too long and takes up about half of this eps. It's such a waste of time.

Last episode I found dull but this one was fine to me. However, the stills are really getting annoying. They're also keeping pace with the manga which ended at the same point as this episode in that chapter

didn't realise each episode is only 13 minutes, man i wonder where the rest of the 13 minutes came from

This episode felt a bit overdramatic to me =0\. I know the dialogue for this ep is supposed to emphasize what’s at stake, but still, it was a bit long-winded for my tastes.

And I hope Eren will stop getting angry at Mikasa every time she wants to come with him. I’m not expecting him to realize her feelings, but at least she should be treated with some respect and appreciate that she cares enough about him to want to protect him(I’m sure that, somewhere inside himself, he feels the same way).

I think eventually he'll open up to her a little bit. Even though they're not blood related, they make a nice brother sister combo together.

I assumed something would go horribly wrong, but I didn't think he'd go berserk. I was thinking the other Colossal and Armored Titans would show up. The elite team seems pretty small. I was thinking a unit of 6-8 people would be going and they would be from the Recon Corps.

I thought that scene was weird and it felt like a recap from a scene in episode 10. It smelled fishy and indeed when i checked, it wasnt in the manga. They added quite a bit of new scenes in this episode which i didnt like. Adding scenes like that are just making Eren look more hostile towards Mikasa than needed.

theyre just making the dialogue lengthy on purpose so they dont use up all their budget on the animation. when ppl are talking they can just repeat some frames for movement while running and just put in 5 or so stills. Not much money is being put into the episodes. the best we got was the end with Eren and co. using their 3D Maneuver Gear and flying around (which was actually really well animated). id welcome the recap episode tbh, so they can gather time to make later episodes a lot better

that is way too far to be reached at this point, since Shiganshina district was basically in the most outer part of wall Maria (130~250km from their current position?) and it is literally packed with titans

they were in the middle at the moment (Trost) and their currect concern should be protecting and regaining Trost

I guess I'm weird then since I didn't problem with the speech's length. With utterly distraught everyone was at the thought of having to go back into Trost (to point of mas desertion), he needed to say a little than some pretty words to calm them down. It also revealed quite bit more about his character than previous episodes did such one being his manipulative nature despite Pixis' brutal honestly. It also helps that I like Pixis' character a lot.

I thought the padding was more evident in the second half, in either way this more build up/transition episode for next week, in that case it did it's job adequately.

I always saw as he's own way of trying to protect her. He can be a little harsh but I don't sense any ill intent there.

Yeah, it's rather manipulative, but probably the best course of action given the situation. Nobody under rank would be able to question him either.

Still it would feel pretty ironic if that he was right (though wrong about Eren) and didn't even know it.

It's not just "her feelings", though. Every time she does that, she implies, no, she says, that he's unable to take care of himself. That without her around, he'll die.

Then again, the last time they were apart for any length of time, he got eaten by a Titan.

Then again again, he was fine afterwards, wasn't he?

I really didn't mind this episode despite having read the manga, while I found the last episode rather dull, the speech was fine to me, and people say the pacing is weird, but I like that they pay attention to details like the low morale of the soldiers.

Am i the only one here who symphatized with Eren sometimes being annoyed by Mikasa over-protectiveness?

Anyway, this episode is fine for me. The lengthy speeches are legit if you really want to convince the soldiers who already lost the will to fight. Somehow, I don't feel it as draggy as the previous episode. Plus, the animation when Eren and the others "Spiderman-ing" through those buildings was done really well and exciting.

Oh, and the score really helped this episode tremendously imo.
