isn't that because Detroit teams haven't done much to justify a riot?

...I would say that riots for sports are never justified, but I doubt that matters to you, since it looks like you're just trying to pick a fight here.

I would say that 4 Stanley Cups, 1 NBA championship, two AL pennants and trips to the World Series in the last 15 years from 4 teams in what is at best a medium market city is more than "haven't done much".

They're not fans, they're hooligans dressed up as fans. They don't care who wins or loses, as long as they can start a fight. And that goes for pretty much any sport.

*facepalm* Again, another government trying to control the Internet.

Insight: Unable to copy it, China tries building own jet engine
http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...89S17B20121029
Quote:
(Reuters) - China has designed nuclear missiles and blasted astronauts into space, but one vital technology remains out of reach. Despite decades of research and development, China has so far failed to build a reliable, high performance jet engine.
This may be about to change. China's aviation sector is striving for a breakthrough that would end its dependence on Russian and Western power plants for military and commercial aircraft

Reminds me, China seems to be suffereing from some sort of invention block. They pumped millions of dollars into all kinds of research, but there doesn't seem to be any breakthrough in any sector they have done research in.

Maybe it is time to change the way how their education system is run? I don't know.

I'm going to put on my capitalist hat here and say this: "U.S. patent law is messed up .. but the original intent was to provide economic incentive for people to invent stuff. Without strong IP laws to protect the value incentive of innovations .. why would you spend all the money to do it in the first place?"

I guess I can agree with that.

And come to think of it, they have been saying "That is about to change" since the mid-2000s where the Americans were complaining that their stuff were getting ripped off there.

Mayor bans zombie march

Quote:
A “ZOMBIE March” for Halloween has been banned in the town of Le Puy-en-Velay to avoid shocking its residents.

The mayor and MP, former UMP minister Laurent Wauquiez, refused permission for the parade, saying: “All Saints is a time dedicated to families and their deceased relatives and this kind of event would shock the citizens.”

Disney buys Lucasfilm, plans to release 'Star Wars: Episode 7' in 2015

Quote:
Star Wars fans, you might want to sit down for this one — The Walt Disney Company just announced its plans to purchase Lucasfilm Ltd from George Lucas, with plans to release Star Wars: Episode 7 sometime during 2015. The deal is a stock and cash transaction, with Lucas receiving about half of the $4.05 billion value of the deal in cash. ""It's now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers," Lucas said in a statement. "I've always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime."

USS Enterprise to make final Mayport stop

http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/l...l-Mayport-stop

USS Enterprise (CVN-65) will return to the United States on Wednesday at Mayport, Florida. She will then head north for her final homecoming in Norfolk, Virginia this Sunday. She will remain active in the fleet until her deactivation ceremony on December 1st.

USS Enterprise will be 51 years old on November 25th. She is the oldest active warship in the US fleet and will be the carrier to have served the longest in the US Navy. She of course is also one of a kind and the first nuclear powered aircraft carrier in the world.

I suppose at this point there's nowhere for the franchise to go but up.

Assuming it goes anywhere at all.

Actually, it's the newspaper lobby using the government to try and strongarm Google into giving them a slice of the pie.

Whether they're entitled to one is of course a matter of opinion.

Well the Clone Wars series is in its fifth year and the comedy "Star Wars: Detours" series will be out next year.

Not seen anything about a this on StarWars.com, but they update at different points in the week.

But what would Episode 7 be about? There are already quite literally dozens of novels of post-Endor into the 40 years+ bracket for the Skywalkers and Solos. The actors are getting too old to play their roles for any but the later ones where it is about them somewhat as well as their children
Spoiler for Later novels:
.

Unfortunately she won't. The Navy and Congress decided she will be too expensive to preserve after they have to cut her apart to take out and recycle her eight nuclear reactors. She'll be defueled in Virginia over the next two years, than she will be sailed to Washington state to have her reactors removed and then what is left....scrapped. They don't even think they will save the bridge structure anymore.
