Because of this, she is bullied by her classmates and spends her days alone.But one day, she meets a strange pink creature who only says "pupipo." It becomes fond of Wakaba and protects her from evil beings. With its help, she befriends a girl obsessed with the occult. And then she meets a boy who can also see invisible beings, and decides to help him get rid of them. Long-time storyboarder and episode director Suzuki Kaoru gets her first full show. Writer Nakajou Tomofumi did the English-instruction anime Maji de Otaku na English! Ribon-chan. Most of the seiyuus are unknowns. **** First ep is out and is... well, odd. Eps are shorts. I actually liked the second ep better than the first - I thought it was pretty funny. But this is really just the teaser trailer for Oshikiri's main series, Hi Score Girl. If that one is short-length I'll be bitterly disappointed.

I was surprised and disappointed that they toned down the anime to the point where Ameyama is only represented as a stalking unrequited lover, instead of the bully [with a crush] that he actually is, beating up Wakaba with a broom to the point where her father even notices "wounds" when she gets home.
Perhaps the director wants this to be a completely wholesome, feel-good anime. It will be interesting to see how further episodes play out. |
