Help with drawings please

Hey all! I was wonderingo if anyone could help me out? my gf likes to draw manga and she draws so good and she gave me one of her drawings and asked me to colour it on the computer but im still learning about this stuff so I just finished my first work but I dont know what I did but.. its like theres this white spots on my outline layer.. i dunno.. this are the steps i did

1 I traced the lineart
2 I made different layers to colour the different parts of the drawing

and when I finished.. I got those white dots all over the outline

Anyone knows how to fix that or prevent that from happening next time?

More info would be helpful, like what app you sued to ink and color. Would also help if you posted the pic.

When you say white spots on your outline layer, you mean the spots are on the lines you traced?

Yes, it looks like these white dots are on the lines I traced. Perhaps I didnt colour ir properly or I dunno. I worked on a white background and it looks okay on the background but if I turn the visibility of the background layer off or try a background with different color like black, theres where the white dots are more visible. I also tried to clean it a bit more using the eraser tool and now it looks a bit better on the black background since I used a black background this time when cleaning but now when I try the white background, it looks like the white dots are on the areas where I want color.

what you are seeing in your trace.... is it something like this?

-->

Even if you change the background to a different color or if you decide to color it completly, it shouldn't affect the already traced lines; That is, as long as the color or the effects are on a different layer.
