HAHAHA, Look like you can sell everything with GuP promotion these days.

Now, I'm waiting for some companies to make a game out of it.

Yes, I can just play World of Tank but won't it be nice if GuP get its own game?

I'm pretty sure one could modify the rules of an existing Armor tabletop game to mimic Sensha-do. No infantry, Artillery, Air support, anti-tank guns, or open top tank destroyers. Just tanks, and enclosed self-propelled guns, and enclosed tank destroyers.

10, 15, and 20 tank maximum depending on the point in the tournament. Command/flag tank being the primary target. Tracked tanks are not out. Tanks that would have the crew killed or the engine destroyed are out...or if the rules have something about flipped over tanks, those are out as well. Only the flag tank counts towards victory.

Provision made for annihilation battles with even sides no matter how small the fight. No more than 20 tanks. All tanks of one side or the other must be "destroyed".

Tanks must have been in production or at least had a prototype built before August 15, 1945. With provision for post-war modifications, if the modification could have been done in the war (different model gun, but some general size and specifications), or for safety purposes (enclosing an open top tank destroyer for instance).

Forces start out of visual range of each other and have time to move about. Hiding, setting up ambushes and the like.

Sending out people to spot for you seems to be legal...as is intercepting radio transmissions (if you can afford an interceptio ballon).

The Flag tank must be something at least half the other team's tanks can "kill". Though it can be "kill at short range only".

The Flag tank cannot be the most powerful tank in your force.

No one mention it here yet.

The sixth OVA "Banquet Wars!" is, as expected, the conclusion to TV series

@Ithekro what you did there is most of the work, laying down the ground rules for the system.
I am pretty sure there are a number of systems geared towards the correct era for the tanks.

Don't forget to note that said OVA will release on June 21! Look at me: OVA 5 isn't even out yet and my excitement for OVA 6 is already building.

This is harder than you might think.

Few systems are truly armor only/focused, and those which are operate at the squad/platoon level. The remaining one (Panzer) operates at the individual tank level, but is scaled to company sized action and get kinda dull on the smaller encounters... None of the systems allow for narrative / event focused play with individual skilled crews. Basically the heroic victories and clever stratagems that Ooarai pulls off are impossible - they'd get trounced every time.

That's why I've been working on my own fast playing system inspired by mecha combat and starfighter combat games...

What's this news of another Drama CD? Because apparently Assam is going to be finally voiced in it (rounding off the unvoiced trio of Saki and Anchovy).

Could be. But then, Panzerfahren does sound more exotic and cooler than "Tankery". True, it doesn't sound as cool if you know what the words mean, but hey, you can read Senshado into "Tank Path", which is also not very cool at all.

But, like Helius said... "Panzerfahren" is German. It should be a different word in English.

Now, if you've spent 50 years staring at the Soviets across the Inner German border, you could maybe adopt the word, like saying "kazerne" instead of "barracks." But otherwise no.

Remember that English uses borrowed words as well. Mostly French words, but sometimes we use words from other languages for whatever reason. We tend to used the one that catched on the best. "Tank" is the British nickname for those large armored contraptions invended in World War One. If the Americans had been on the Central Powers side of things, their term might have become popular instead and thus general knowledge.

Frankly "Tankery" sounds just fine with me. Strictly speaking "Senshado" literally means "way of the tank" (a la "bushido"="way of the samurai"), but that's just silly...

For better or worse, PANZERFAHREN is pretty spot on... even if as a term, its bland and drab as hell.

I like the details, such as both their dogtags have the same initials, and Maho's tank cake has its turret turned.

Yet I sense Erika & Yukari lurking somewhere in that picture, with smoke discharging and veins popping...

Dangerous times...
