But yeah...I do agree...to some extend at least. We can only dream of a world with more Chinese girls like Mei...
Nah, IMO, the model for chinese girls so far has to be Lenalee

HALLOWEEN SPECIAL, PART VII ACT II
Spoiler for space-saving:
// second round //
Zafira had to force himself to smile.
Whether the cosplay was intentional or not, he could not tell because it was all a part of Hayate’s brilliant plan. Moreover, he had to be sure he was donning the dress correctly although at first glance the attire looked nothing more than a modified butler uniform.
Well, he pondered, at least he got the Afro right.
He walked out of the changing room and met up with an equally mortified Vita. “Oi, Vita, at least you don’t have to wear Gothic dresses,” he commented, as Vita complained of the weird head visor and the kimono she had to wear for the party.
“Ano ne, Zafira.”
“Nanda?”
Vita sighed. “I can’t complain anymore, can I?” she said and holstered the shell machinegun over her shoulder. She grumbled in protest when Zafira gave her a playful pat on the head. “Stop ruffling my hair, Zafira. Hey!”
“Zafira!”
Along came Vivio, Annabelle and Lutecia. The two Wolkenritter turned to see them dressed up in their own extravagant costumes. “What are you guys cosplaying as?” Vita asked.
“Lulu-chan dresses up as Rider,” Annabelle said. “Vivio-chan cosplays as the sunflower fairy godmother, and I cosplay as Grandpa’s eternal friend.”
While Vita gave Annabelle a very deep look of ‘huh’ at the answer, Zafira took his time examining the two other young girls. He could see Lutecia’s cosplay perfectly matched her image as the purple-haired Servant, but the sheer cuteness of Vivio with that giant sunflower stuck on her back was inconceivable.
“Zafira, what is that?” Vivio asked and pointed to the Afro.
“Heh, it’s nothing,” Zafira said and put on his Ray Ban sunglasses. “How do I look?” Lutecia gave the wolf-man two thumbs up. Annabelle blushed in admiration at the macho look. Vivio cooed at the simple transformation of one of her friends. “Well, I guess I can go and win the top prize, can’t I?”
They returned to the hall. The moment they entered the building, the cosplay battle temporarily stopped. The crowd became smitten when they turned to Afro Zafira, and were more enticed when they saw him surrounded with sparkles and bubbles.
“Ah, Zafira-san…<3”
(Insert cheesy music here)
Zafira blinked. “I haven’t had my turn yet.”
The women sighed. “Yada… Zafira-san’s voice is so manly…” the murmured and cupped their blushing cheeks.
“That Afro… that Ray Ban…” the men muttered in equal admiration.
“Everyone’s gay for Masa-san,” dryly Lutecia commented.
One fan boy noticed the purple-haired girl. “Holy crap! It’s Rider!”
“RORI RAIDA? USO DA!” his friend shouted.
Onstage, the two Goth cosplayers watched in amusement at the commotion down there. “I never expected Zafira-san and Lulu-chan can capture so many eyes,” Widuri commented and turned to the smitten Smith and Wesson. “Although… why are they looking at us in that way?”
“Shinigami Mai…” Smith murmured.
“And Suigintou Widuri…” Wesson added.
“Both of them are hot Goth…” Smith said.
“…and their gorgeousness…” Wesson continued.
“ARE MADE OF PURE LOVE AND WIN!!!” they roared.
Widuri could only laugh in silly manners at the Linebackers, but then Mai was not saying anything about them. She had been looking for someone, and was disappointed because they did not appear as they had promised. Widuri noticed Mai’s distraught look and asked, “is there something wrong, Enna-sama?”
“Iie. It’s just-”
“Guess who?”
Widuri gasped. So did Smith and Wesson, because Mai’s eyes were covered by someone, and that someone was none other than…
“Gwen-oneesama?” Mai turned around to see another woman standing next to Sarah Alicia Lushien, a.k.a. Gwendolyn. “Iris-oneesama?”
The woman chuckled. “We did surprise you, didn’t we Mai-chan?” Gwen asked.
“And you seem to be enjoying your Shinigami outfit a lot,” Iris said in a teasing tone.
Mai blushed. “Wha… what are you talking of, Oneesama?” she mumbled.
Gwen giggled and took Mai’s arms as she and Iris brought the Daemon Princess to backstage. “We’d like to borrow Mai-chan for a while,” Gwen said to Widuri with a wink.
“Haii. Dozo.”
The Unison Device was unsure of what the women were going to do with Mai, and decided not to pay attention to them as she turned to the protesting Linebackers and fan boys. “I believe we should spend our waiting time with something useful, right?”
Widuri approached the mike stand. She coughed in low voice, corrected her posture and smiled to the audience.
“Mizu no naka ni, yoru ga yureteru…”
The audience was awed. It was the first time Widuri (or any Unison Device so to speak) sang this beautifully. More surprising was that Frieda was accompanying Widuri with piano scores of the song (and Widuri did not know of this yet).
“Kanashii hodo, shizuka no tatazumu…”
The Zafira-san/Loli Rider uproar ended abruptly. Immediately all eyes and ears were fixated on the performing due, their heart touched by the serenity of Widuri’s heavenly voice.
“Midorinasu kishibe, utsukushii yoake wo…”
The Linebackers waved their lighters overhead, and everybody soon followed suit.
“Tada matte iraretara, kirei na kokoro de…”

The Tactical Instructor was upset at first for not able to join her friends, but she was also glad to finally have the space of privacy she had been seeking for. Looking down at Hikki’s childish face, she could not help wondering of how it would be if he didn’t have to cross-dress and sleep with her accompanying him.

The performance ended. Frieda left the piano and approached Widuri to bow to the audience together. “That was wonderful,” Shamal praised. “We never thought Widuri-chan can actually sing so that beautifully.”
“Considering her nature as a close-combat Unison Device, it would be surprise to see her soft side once in a while,” Keroko said. “Even the outfit suits her perfectly.”
Widuri had to laugh. “What are you talking of, Keroko-sama? You look beautiful in those frills, too.”
Keroko blushed. “It… it’s because Hayate threatened me with blackmails,” she murmured and shyly fiddled with her fingers. “Though I’ve always wanted to wear these…”
(Hayate deviously cackled. “Just as planned!”)
“But to see Ms. Johansen here is quite a surprise,” Ginga said. “Your presence is very much welcomed.”
The eyeglasses mother-would-be giggled. “Takeru has to follow Aura here. I simply fulfil my role as his guardian,” she said and was latter batting an eyebrow when she saw Ginga’s plain dress. “And I see that Miss Ginga needs something a bit… more proper.”
“What is that supposed to- IYAH!” Ginga was yelping in distress as Frieda dragged her towards the dressing room. “Miss Johansen! What are you trying to do? Ah! You’re stripping me!”
“Why, I’m just helping you dress up,” Frieda replied. “Now where did I put that dress I had brought earlier…”
“Miss Johansen! No! Ah! Subaru, help…”
“I didn’t know Paladin Frieda is a cosplay demoness,” Signum said in horror.
Hayate’s response was an equal terror as she patted Signum’s shoulder. “She’s Carim’s close friend, after all.”

“See? I’ve told you it would suit you,” Frieda said as she did the finishing touch on the ribbon. “Look for yourself. Aren’t you beautiful?”
Ginga had to gulp bitterly. Like it or not, she had to accept the fact she was wearing the most suggestive cosplay dress she had ever worn. Not only that, she was asked to wear fake eyeglasses to add in the novelty of the cosplay. “Miss Johansen, I don’t feel comfortable in this suit…”
“What are you talking of, Ginga?” Frieda replied and rested her hands upon Ginga’s bare shoulders. “On Earth, witch and succubus are just a part of our Halloween celebration. I used to cosplay as a succubus in my college, so there’s nothing wrong if you cosplay as one.”
“But Miss Johansen-” Ginga was startled when the gunslinger knight embraced her, comfortably holding her body in her maternal arms. Frieda was giggling in soft voice as she brought Ginga close to her. “Miss Johansen…”
“Call me Frieda,” the eyeglasses-totting woman murmured. “Just relax. Everything will be fine if you believe in yourself. Right?”
“O… okay…”
The two women finally left the dressing room. They walked past the mortified Hayate, Signum, Shamal and Keroko and headed to the stage, where they were immediately greeted with approval roar like nothing before. Fan boys were infatuated by the sight of Witch Frieda and Succubus Ginga in eyeglasses and, Ginga loyalists, especially, drooled over Ginga’s voluptuous body.
“Mou, stop staring at me,” Ginga moaned when she noticed them eyeing her ‘delicious’ figure. “Hentai. Baaka. Ecchi. Sukebe.”
“GINGA-NEECHAMA HAS GONE TSUN-TSUN!!!!!!!!” fan boys wailed in agreement and melted.
Well, someone had to make sure it made sense.
“Hayate Yagami!” an audience shouted. “What kind of winning cosplay is this?! Ginga as a Megane Succubus? I must approve!”
“But it wasn’t a part of my plan!” Hayate objected.
“So she wants the cosplay party to follow her idealism,” the rest of the audience murmured.
“Chigau!” Hayate replied.
(Sophia had to laugh. “Did Oneechan just get caught red-handed? It’s so unlike her,” she exclaimed.
Kaempfer turned to several captivated audience and noticed someone asking his name. “Kaempfer,” he pronounced his name, and wind mysteriously blew his cape to reveal his muscular figure.)
“Everyone, please,” Ginga said as she was trying to ease the tension. “Hayate wasn’t at fault. It was-” She stepped on a banana peel that mysteriously materialized under her foot and slipped off the floor - only to be caught in Frieda’s arms. “F-Frieda?”
“Are you alright, Ginga?” Frieda asked with a warm smile.
Fan boys were captivated by the sight of the gunslinger knight holding Ginga, and were even overwhelmed when sparkles and bubbles surrounded the two dazzling women.
Then they shouted in unison: “THIS IS FRIEDA JOHANSEN AND GINGA NAKAJIMA! THEY ARE MADE OF MILF, HOTNESS, ABSOLUTE LOVE AND WIN!!!”
“Banzai! Banzai!” fan boys agreed and roared together with the Linebackers. “Frieda-sama banzai! Ginga-neechama banzai!” Their excitement, however, did not last long when they heard a very heavy machine start-up noise coming from the right flank. “Uh-oh.”
“Do you hear what I just hear?” Smith said.
“I can hear it very loud and clear, brother,” Wesson replied.
Slowly, the Linebackers and the fan boys turned to the noise. There, standing at the end of the front raw seat was two angry young people with weapons deployed in Overdrive Mode.
“I shall shove these fists into your sorry mouth!” Subaru declared and loaded the Double Revolving Knuckles.
“Would you like to try dying once?” Takeru questioned and inserted a 20mm Belkan cartridge into the Panzer Faust Silberkugel.
“Please spare us…” the Linebackers pleaded.
Their answer was a definitive “No.”
“Oh shi-”
“Where did Zafira get that Afro, by the way?” Eruru Shamal asked when she saw Afro Zafira standing at the end of the hall and squealed when a cat mysteriously grabbed her tail. “Iyah! Stop touching my tail!”
“HOLY CRAP! IT’S SHAMISEN!!!!”
“AND IT’S GRABBING SHAMAL’S TAIL, TOO!!!!”
“GO FOR THE TAIL, SHAMISEN!!!!
“Let go off me! Hanaste! Iyah! Dareka! Dame! AH~~~~~~”
Fan boys and male audience bled their noses. “SHAMISEN ROCKS! HELL YEAH!!!!”
Subaru Nakajima killed fan boys with Double Revolving Bunker: Claymore Avalanche Mode. Holy shit! Subaru is in killing spree!!
Takeru killed male audience with Silberkugel: Panzer Faust Mode. Holy shit! Takeru is in killing spree!!
“Otoko no baaka,” Lutecia and Mai commented.
// to be continued //
Wow... So much stuff happening at once... Masa-san!!
When you said Vivio was cosplaying as a fairy godmother, I thought of this:
Spoiler for Vivio:
And Mai, Gwen and Iris went out of the party to do THIS and THAT in private?!
BTW, I found this today and was going to show it to you before the next chapter, but I was too late.
Spoiler for Succubus Gwen:
Surely Mai will love that.
And with Ginga as a Succubus too... There will be a lot of blood spilled in this party...

Prism Ark's story isn't as complex as FSN but its not bad in its own way. Though I have to agree the anime isn't anywhere near that. Probably has to do with the script writers high on Nagasarete Airantou, they couldn't resist the harem crack.

Here's a little Da Capo II promotion...

Holy Shi-!!!! Just a little lower!!! Erio! You have convinced me to watch Da Capo II!!!
Clannad, I suppose its the studio animating it, KyoAni, that's making a lot of people watch it. I really like it a lot myself. I wouldn't say its epic drama or anything, but its a cut above the normal.
The blue girl seiyuu in Ninomiya-kun is the same one who voiced Shinku in Rozen Maiden, hence the perfect ojou-sama attitude there.

There are some sites where you can learn online for free, though I haven't really had the time to explore them in detail due to projects and assignments. I felt that I shouldn't start halfway and slack off learning because of college work so I put it off till my holidays begin.
For the moment its just a lot of "reading" untranslated visual novels that have voice in it, and eventually I pick up those kanji and hiragana bit by bit. Adding to that you have anime where the lines are translated, so now and then I go "oh I heard this particular word in this game" and remember how the kanji/hiragana looked like in the game. Also, windows Japanese IME helps. Now and then I hear some words, and I just randomly type how it sounded to me out. For example, typing "tatoeba" gives you 例えば which means "for example" (pun intended nyek nyek nyek).
Its not a very efficient way to learn, but at least its free.

Actually no, I'm only recreating Fel as an OC here. Hyaweh just happened to be the one in the ear tugging scene. I'll get maybe Itsuki to tug her ears. Terrans on Earth have only heard of elves in fantasy tales, so meeting one would perk his interest a lot.

HALLOWEEN SPECIAL, PART VII ACT II
Spoiler for space-saving:
// second round //
Spoiler for song in question:

Nanoha was watching the life performance from inside the medical room. Hikki was still sleeping, and was not showing any sign of awaking. The Tactical Instructor was upset at first for not able to join her friends, but she was also glad to finally have the space of privacy she had been seeking for. Looking down at Hikki’s childish face, she could not help wondering of how it would be if he didn’t have to cross-dress and sleep with her accompanying him.
“Silly me,” she uttered with a chuckle.
-
- “Itsumo, itsuka, kitto… anata no te wo tori…”
The performance ended. Frieda left the piano and approached Widuri to bow to the audience together. Everybody gave the two women a very loud standing ovation, whistling and throwing roses to them as they did. They thanked the audience for the support and returned backstage to meet up with Shamal, Ginga and Keroko.
-x-x-x-x-x-
// 20 minutes later //
“Oh shi-”

Spoiler for Profile:
Shortened Profile:
Planeswalker - the word itself has a near-mythical sense to it. A living being ascended to a level most can only dream of reaching. Not so long ago (cosmically speaking - the cataclysm and Mending occurred two millennia ago), time fractures nearly brought this multiverse to an end. That crisis was resolved, but at the cost of the realm’s power; the planeswalker is no longer a demigod. Now, they are mortal, but still far beyond any living being’s power.
One in a million have this potential power within them from birth; one in a million with that power may ever unlock it. Lyria I’savata never dreamed she would be one of those who had claim to that title.. She was born on Earth in the early 1700s, a time when magic was still heretical and mages little better than charlatans or worse. Her parents were Midchildan, both mages themselves, traveled to Earth for reasons unknown. They taught Lyria the arts of magic, even passed down their Device, a family heirloom, to her at the age of 10.
She kept her art secret, hidden from all but her family’s eyes, practicing as far away from human eyes as possible. She also trained herself in the art of the sword, as a means to fight without magic - again a legacy of her bloodline. Though she and her parents hid their art well, fate and chance happened that a venerable holy man saw Lyria’s parents use magic one day, when Lyria herself was just turned 16. Frightened beyond belief, that these…“witches” would be living among them, he rallied the townsfolk to a drive them out. It went too far - the rally became a mob, bent on slaying any reminders of the foul crafts. Lyria herself hid in a secret panel of her house, listening in horror to what happened to her parents. Even in their last moments, they refused to use magic to save themselves, and swore that Lyria knew nothing of their art.
Lyria came out of her hiding place to find only destruction - her house had been ruined, her parents slain. Anger, pure, undiluted hatred, surged through her, obliterating any thought of safety; she threw away the chance her parents had bought her and vowed to repay blood with blood. Arming her Device, she set out with murder in her heart.
Unlike her parents, Lyria had no qualms about using her power against those without it. The townsfolk had pitchforks, blunt objects, and a gun or two; Lyria had a Device and a strong command of magic - it was no contest. It took less than an hour for her to slay every last one of them, her blood raging ever hotter with each stroke of her blade, each pulse of destroying light. As blood had been paid for her own life, so did blood pay for her parents’.
The finish of her slaughter brought not peace, but even more rage and despair. It reached a peak, a point where her mind and body could not last under the strain. She, driven to near-madness, impaled herself with the same bloody blade that had slain a half thousand minutes before, intending to atone for the lives she took wit her own.
And it was that kind of peak that the “spark” of a planeswalker needed to burst forth.
Lyria’s ascension obliterated every trace of what had been her hometown. Those few who were close enough to see the event without being so close as to be vaporized described it as “judgment, as if God‘s mighty hammer came crashing down upon this world.” When the storm of light died down, Lyria found herself a planeswalker, her spark burst into its true power..
She understood the basics of her new powers, but little beyond(it can be assumed that all planeswalkers gain some instinctive knowledge of their power upon ascension.); she knew only that she was no longer the person she once was. Her magic still remained, but also changed, fueled by her metaphysical energies. It started out simple - she experimented with her power, the kind of rudimentary tests anyone with something new does. She mastered “planeswalking” first, and began to learn other new magics as she jumped between worlds.
Ten years after her ascension, she met another planeswalker, a being she speaks of only as “Myali.” Myali, an ancient planeswalker who had been around before the Mending, taught the young walker much about her art, a selfless gesture rarely found among ascendants. For a time, the two traveled the planes, gaining knowledge and power. Lyria learned from him as a novice from a grand master. Myali met his end after nearly a century of walking with his companion, his own path ending that Lyria’s could continue. He was killed by Dhuriv, lord of the Endwalkers - an anarchic cult, led by the dark planeswalker Dhuriv, which seeks “to shroud the multiverse in eternal night.” Dhuriv and Lyria have become archenemies over the past two centuries, battling across dozens of planes, each seeking the other’s demise.
It was only recently that the TSA met Lyria, after she walked to Midchilda at last - now over 300, she only now was visiting the world of her parents for the first time. This was the TSA’s first recorded encounter with a planeswalker, though they had met other beings of similarly high power before. An unnamed individual spoke with Lyria on the Bureau’s behalf; she was happy to share her knowledge but made it clear that she wanted no part of the military.
Lyria is now a free-spirited walker. Though she spends much time around Midchilda and has taken a deeper interest in the study of contemporary magic, she is ever her own driving force. She follows no command but her own, no order but her will.
-----
Spoiler for Personality:
Personality:
Lyria has changed greatly from the young girl she once was. Her younger self was aggressive, withdrawn, and preferred to hide what she could, a legacy of keeping her magic a secret. Now she is a almost the complete opposite - positive, upbeat, and valorous. She is willing to fight for her own beliefs, and is willing to protect those who need it.
Generally, Lyria is very warm and positive, making friends easily and having no trouble talking to people. She possesses a tremendously strong will, driven to keep going and fight no matter how dire the odds, and she never thinks of giving up or conceding. She does tend to be a bit overconfident, though, a result of her immense power, though she noticeably lacks the arrogance many of her contemporaries share - Lyria simple thinks she has the ability to do something insane and will throw her all into it. Her intelligence in battle and drive to fight make her a natural leader.
Lyria virtually exudes calmness outside of combat. She has a gentle air, warm smile, and energetic appearance. She tends to put on something of an act around people, especially large groups or friends; she likes to play a dojikko archetype (though she actually is a bit clumsy). It is partially due to her youthful, almost harmless facade that many often refuse to believe that she is a planeswalker, though a simple demonstration is usually enough to convince the disbeliever. This calmness is also what helps her keep a rational view of both herself and the world around her, and lets her remain cool and collected in the most dire of times.
A point of interest is that while Lyria has no trouble talking about planeswalkers or planeswalking in general, she hardly says anything about other planes she’s visited. The closest she gets to this sort of thing is to drop very tantalizing hints and loose references about events and circumstances on other planes, but it seems to be a rule of hers not to divulge anything explicit. She claims this is because it’s “more fun to actually see it yourself,” but privately says that the decision to speak of other planes is one she’s needs more authority to make. Given that planeswalkers are more or less above the law, this cryptic statement raises only more questions.

Appearance:

Spoiler for Powers:
Skills and Abilities:
Lyria is a planeswalker, thus has access to amazing abilities. Once, she would have been called a goddess, but after the Mending she is now “merely” a superhuman. Notwithstanding, she is still highly powerful, both in magic and in her powers.
One of the most misunderstood aspects of the so-called “new” planeswalkers(those ascended after the Mending) is their actual level of power. Much of the existing lore on was written on “old” planeswalkers; they were all but gods, with the ability to move across the infinties at will, create worlds, and possess general immortality. New planeswalkers possess far less of that power - while they can still planeswalk, they can no longer create planes at will(a major cause of time fractures), and are mortal - though many mortal needs, such as aging and nourishment, can be compensated for or even eliminated, they are still mortal beings. They can be injured or killed - though this is notoriously difficult to do - and are still subject to all physical laws and restrictions. Yet because of the ancient lore being more well-known, many still believe that the new planeswalker is a kind of demigod. Powerful they are, but the gap is far smaller than one might think.
All planeswalkers have the ability to “planeswalk,” that is, they can travel across the aetheric paths that bind every plane in existence together. (The word “plane“ in this context can be thought of as synonymous to both “world“ and “dimension,” since the concept of planes is generally of a given “area” of existence centralized around a “home” world.) Think of it as a specialized and powerful form of teleportation magic; non-planeswalkers cannot and do not have a means to use it. Planeswalkers’ abilities are largely based on their former selves’ powers; since Lyria’s Midchildan magic was light-based, many of her planeswalker powers are also thus. Lyria has amazing magic power thanks to her ascendancy; her light magic is both versatile in use and extremely powerful.
She’s also trained in swordsmanship; as her Device is a blade she felt it prudent to learn fighting, and before her ascendance she had become a skilled swordswoman. With her new powers she can now harness her magic in harmony with her sword, calling on small, focused pulses of mixed light and energy to augment her own attacks. This is her variant of the cartridge system; she doesn’t use the actual system itself. As a fighter, she has both skill and experience, but she’s not a dedicated close-combat expert - average agility but high defensive power lend to a style where she defends herself until opponents make exploitable mistakes, and to mix long- and short-range combat.
Overall, her mix of planeswalker powers, standard magic, and swordsmanship make Lyria an incredibly powerful person, though she is by no means indestructible. Lyria isn’t prone to attacking at random, if she does decide to fight, it’s likely to be an intense battle.
-----
Spoiler for Device:
Device:
Lyria’s Device is Evangelion the Twelfth Circle, a Device originally passed down through her family for almost a thousand years. It’s not actually the same weapon she inherited; its former name was Termina - the Device changed when Lyria ascended. Termina was a standard Midchildan Intelligent Device, with no real outstanding features save for being a close-combat weapon, a style not typically favored by Midchildan magic. When Lyria became a planeswalker, the blade changed along with her. Now, Device and walker are as one - Evangelion is an integral part of Lyria; only she can use it, and only it gives her access to her best magic.
Sealed, it takes the form of a small gold clasp much like a necklace; it can be seen on the photo of her casual clothes above. She wears it all the time, even while asleep. When released, it becomes a longsword composed entirely of light blue energy, accompanied by a light blue shield on her left arm - this is the weapon’s normal form, but she can transform it instantly as needed, into a large two-handed blade, a pair of dual-wielded thinner blades, or back to a shield and sword. Two thin blades, one slightly longer than the other, are placed side by side to form the blade of any weapon form. Tiny motes of light - actually fragments of planeswalker energy - move throughout the blades and shield constantly, as though the weapon itself was alive.
Evangelion is a completely sentient Device, individual in thought and action, though it trusts Lyria absolutely and is even protective of her to a degree. It takes a slightly stand-offish tone and attitude towards other people, though its stern demeanor is not really unfriendly unless one happens to take a less-than-favorable attitude towards Lyria. (Evangelion doesn‘t really care if you insult it.) It prefers to speak English, though with the odd habit of addressing Lyria as the Tau honorific “Shas‘El.” Its voice is male, stern next to Lyria’s gentle voice, the Device itself is also male in nature. Its command phrase is “Smite!”
Evangelion uses Lyria’s planeswalker energy, drawn through her planeswalker-powered Linker Core, to cast magic; because of this she has a nearly limitless supply of extremely pure mana with which to use her spells. She can also sustain magic casting for a very long period of time before tiring. Combined with her high magic strength, this makes her extremely dangerous in combat and she has a very high overall threat level.
Its Full Drive is called Silver Sonata. Planeswalker and Device allow their power to become one, uniting in both a physical and metaphysical sense - the two of them literally share one mind and body - both think, feel, and sense as one being. In this form, Lyria doesn’t physically carry her blade or its accompanying shield; they float around her, accompanied by three more identical blades. Each component is individually controlled at her will. Silver flames flow from the blades as they move through the air; the origin of Lyria’s title, the Silver Flame. The overall effect is similar to the Blaster Mode and can be used in a similar fashion, minus a significant part of the body strain. This has the effects of both amplifying her magic power and giving extra loci for casting. She suffers no ill effects from simply being in her Drive form; only when she actually takes action is there any additional draining effect.
Device Incantation:
O hand of skies, that bids forth the grand wheel…guide upon water and blood the strength of a lost star…sift within a citadel of mirrors, all power guided to a single point of light! Drive on, run forth, never falter, let nothing hold back! It ends and begins now…Evangelion!…SET UP!!

Spoiler for Jacket:
Barrier Jacket:
[see attached photo]
Lyria’s Barrier Jacket, complete with Evangelion in Rebuke Form. Her Jacket has no alternate forms.
Forms:
Her Device has three forms. The two alternate forms are temporary shifts; she uses them for brief moments of attack.
Rebuke Form - The standard setup, with one-handed blade and shield. A defensive form that gives her the ability to block with her shield, and also enhances her defensive magic strength slightly.
Cascade Form - A two-handed setup that gives Lyria a larger blade. She loses the ability to carry a shield, and her attacking speed is lowered. However, she has higher attack power; her magic’s area of attack is also increased and her magic’s damage is amplified.
Striker Form - Gives Lyria two slimmer blades to dual-wield. Her attacks lose power, but become swifter instead. Her magic power is also halved, but she casts two instances of each spell. They also move faster; projectiles fly at higher speed.

Spoiler for Spells:
Spell List:
Every spell in Lyria’s repertoire takes the affinity of light. Having one single focus makes them that much stronger, but also susceptible to effects that resist light.
- Attack -
Sunray: Mid-range, shooting, light elemental
A simple but powerful spell that fires a thin ray of light. The ray “collects” at Lyria’s command and explodes, damaging any enemy in the area of effect. It strikes nearly-instantly, though takes a split-second to detonate.
Seal of Purging: Variable range, trap, light elemental
This spell places a glyph of light at the target location, which vanishes at once. Any enemy approaching the glyph will set it off, triggering an explosion of light. Lyria can also command the glyph to explode at any time.
Rainbow Arc: Short range, powered attack, light-elemental
Lyria sheathes her blade briefly, then draws it at high speed, casting a wave of light forward. This wave dissipates quickly, but is one of her stronger abilities and also her signature spell.
Sky Laser: Mid-range, shooting, light-elemental
Similar to Accel Shooter or other guided missiles, this spell casts between two and twenty bursts of volatile light, directed by Lyria’s will. The more missiles fired, the less powerful each one is.
Reverse Point: Mid-range, physical, non-elemental
“Reverse” is a bit of a misnomer; this is actually a sword throw. Lyria tosses her blade in a long arc, directing its trajectory remotely. After several seconds of flight, it returns to her hand. She has no weapon besides her fists while the blade is in flight.
Culling Jet: Short range, powered attack, light-elemental
Temporarily fuses a wave of light to Evangelion, lengthening and widening the blade. Lyria then performs a series of five precisely timed sword attacks in succession, dealing severe damage to any enemy foolish enough to close in.
Impact Hammer: Mid-range, bombardment, light-elemental
Lyria holds both arms out in front of her, and fires countless pulses of light, forming a semi-cohesive bolt that spreads out over a distance. She can continue to fire this spell off, making a constant stream, but it becomes draining to use for more than several seconds.
Wings of Light: Short range, powered attach, light-elemental
A specialized move for breaking barriers and other hard targets. Lyria collects a twin surge of light on her blade and charges the enemy. Upon impact, she releases the light; the first charge uses multiple small bursts, opening the way for the second one to explode.
Sorrowvoid: Mid-range, AOE, light-elemental
A darker light spell that creates a massive glyph of light at the target area. After a second, it begins drawing in anything, save her or designated targets, within a significant radius. After several seconds of drawing, it releases all gathered energy in a devastating blast.
Radiant Emblem: Mid-range, powered attack, light-elemental
Lyria’s strongest attack spell grafts a massive blade of light to the end of Evangelion, nearly 60 feet in length. She then swings it down with all her might, sending a giant crescent of destroying light forth, cleaving all it touches. Both blade and wave are capable of shearing physical armor and AMF alike with ease.
-Defense-
Terminus: Barrier
A standard, albeit very powerful, auto-guard spell.
Vacuum Shield: Shield
Projects a high-powered shield on the user’s hand. Very strong but can only guard from one direction at a time.
Circlic Wave: Shield
A higher-charged shield than the typical shield, designed to reflect attacks rather than block them. It is, however, easier to break with sheer power.
Shattered Lights: Guardian
Casts several splinters of light that fly around Lyria. These splinters offer no additional protection, but will attack and damage enemies that close into melee range.
Shining Wall: Wall
Projects a huge wall of light in at the target area. This wall cannot be moved or fired through, but can absorb a large amount of damage before breaking.
Sol Mirror: Shield, special
This uses Lyria’s shield as a charge tool; this technique absorbs a portion of magic damage she takes onto the shield’s face. She can release it at any time as a short range attack, the shield can only hold so much energy; any beyond that point won’t be blocked.
-Hex-
Hex magic is a recent work of Lyria’s. She uses a slight variation of hexes; hers are single target, effect-over-time abilities like the stereotypical curse. The difference is that under her definition, “hex” denotes both positive and negative effects. She doesn’t have individual spells in this category; she simply casts a blanket positive or negative stat alteration that lasts for a short time.
Resonance:
Positive effect hex. Grants the target a small boost for a few minutes.
Winnow:
Negative hex effect. Hinders the target’s abilities for a few minutes.
-Other-
Lightwalk: Planeswalker
Lyria’s planeswalking spell. She conjures a large runic glyph of light before her - think planeswalker’s map - and concentrates her entire being on it, tapping into the infinite web of the realms. She then uses this to walk across the void‘s paths.
Coldchain: Binding
A simple variant of bind that wraps the target’s limbs in chains of light. Lyria can also link multiple instances of this bind together, effectively chaining several targets at once.
Bright Prison: Binding
A powerful bind spell that casts glyph binds around the target’s entire body. This is a very powerful bind made to immobilize targets completely, allowing no freedom of movement at all.
Flickerwings: Movement
A “sonic move” that sends Lyria moving at beyond visual speed for a brief moment. Her cape flickers to a light blue energy form while she uses this technique.
Optica: Sight
Generates a small sphere of revealing light that flies at Lyria’s side. Short-lived, it senses and negates stealth, illusion, and disguise…and incidentally provides a light source.
Iron Plax: Stealth
A specialized spell designed to counter long-ranged and guided-missile magic, by shrouding the target in an AMF that distorts the enemy’s ability to target. This in turn makes enemies less able to hit that ally accurately at long range.
Sanctuary: Stealth
Generates an aura of light around Lyria that makes her invisible to enemy eyes. Powerful, but not perfect.
Liberate: Restoration
Attempts to remove any negative effects from allies or positive effects from enemies.
Physic: Healing
A move of mercy that washes a target in pure light, restoring stamina and life.
Physic Powered: Healing
A powerful heal that painlessly injects purified light shards into a target‘s injuries, mending even the most dire of wounds.
-Ceremonial-
Ordo Infinitus: Long range, AOE, light-elemental
Lyria’s one ceremonial spell lives up to its name; its an ability of incredible destructive power. Summoning all the power she can muster, she creates a “targeting glyph” nearly a mile in diameter at the target. Several more glyphs then rise into the air above that one, forming a stack stretching to the sky. Then she releases a massive, skyborne beam of light, which smashes down through the glyphs and detonates upon the “targeter.” The resulting explosion is sufficient to cause gratuitous devastation to anything unlucky enough to be in the area. Unlike other spells, this has no “friendly fire” ability.

Spoiler for Trivia:
Trivia:
- Lyria’s name is pronounced “LIE-ri-a,” not “LEE-ri-a” as people often tend to say it based on spelling.
- Lyria will eat just about anything. One of her favorite ways to meet new people is over a meal.
- It’s rumored that she has a specific personal “weakness,” but she isn’t talking…
- And she’s a fan of cosplaying.
Bonus Ficlet:
Spoiler for Lightwalker:
Lightwalker
A flash of light burst across Lyria’s eyes as her blade struck a barrier of dark magic. She recoiled, started to slash again, pulled back and threw her shield-clad arm up to block a funnel of black flames. She grunted in pain as heat washed over her, winced as a tendril of fire slashed across her shoulder. With a shout, she lunged forth, purposely missed as Dhuriv moved aside with surprising agility. As he did, she turned in place, cutting across his armor. The blow was solid, but failed to pierce his shadow-fused armor.
“No good, Silver Flame.” The ironic emphasis on her title was unmistakable. “In almost two centuries, you’ve failed to spill my blood once.”
“I’m not so weak!” She made a swift motion with her sword.
[Rainbow Arc.] Her Device called it out as she slashed, casting a crescent of turquoise light forth. Dhuriv barely stopped it in time.
“I never said you’re weak. I am amazed, though, that you’ve improved so little in the four years since we last met. Why, for instance, are you still using that worthless machine?”
She didn’t bother with her sword, so spurred to anger, but punched at him with her free hand. He quickly deflected the blow, but quickly dashed back to avoid further attack.
“Listen to me, Lyria. I’ve been at this a lot longer than you. I didn’t get to be the lord of this faction by being some feeble little savant. Darkness isn’t something you should take so lightly.”
“Shut up. I’m not going to just let you walk over this multiverse, corrupting everything you look at! Not after you killed Myali-sama!
Dhuriv smiled, a ghastly expression more suited to a skull than a living human. “He and you both would have lived if you had just left well alone. Was it that hard?”
“And let a half-million people die under your ‘followers’?’ You tried to obliterate a fucking city! And you would have killed FRIENDS OF MINE!!!” Lyria was not prone to anger, but this…monster…was pushing her far past her limits. “Planeswalkers are supposed to protect humans…not destroy them!”
“And under my view, I AM protecting humans. If all follow my judgment, there is no need for safety. Why protect when you can simply control?”
Lyria shook her head, spat a runic curse under her breath. “Planeswalkers…are not -” She broke off, kneeling in the air as a fit of coughing overcame her. She raised her hand to her mouth and felt blood spatter against her glove. Finally, she managed to look up at her enemy. “We are not…gods. We are mortal…you can’t control everything. Other planeswalkers are out there…you keep this up, tread on enough of their turf, and you’ll get them all on you before long!”
He chuckled humorlessly. “Which is why my empire is in the fringe, where you high-and-mighties dare not go. Don’t worry, little Lyria-chan.” Another small, dark chuckle. “Soon night will spread to other planes as well. And someone needs to guide that night as it spreads.”
Lyria opened her mouth, but Dhuriv held up a hand, suddenly looking distracted. “And as much as I love these little chats, something has come to my attention, and I really can’t waste any more time. Two centuries, Lyria, and all you can do is slow me down. Perhaps I should take a look at that plane of yours…Midchilda, do you call it?”
“You wouldn’t dare -”
“Oh, yes I would.”
“You will NOT destroy MY plane! And there are mages there, who can stand up to you!”
Dhuriv looked slightly interested at this, giving his deathlike smile again. “Oh? Mages like yourself, who know nothing of true sorcery? Who need machines to do the barest of magical ability? And I thought you were above the base claiming of a plane as your own?”
Lyria had no response to this, merely glared at the warlock before her. Dhuriv closed his eyes, spread his arms out to the side, then quickly clasped his hands. He began to speak - a foul, eldritch tongue that made Lyria quake just to hear it. “Mak’da cu iretev’e as’tae’ni…shede im te’vkas -”
Dark energies swirled around Dhuriv as he spoke, weaving in and out of reality and vision. He spoke on, the shadows surging further - and a second later, he seemed to fold into nothingness.
“Dammit…” Lyria punched her knee in frustration. Once a person planeswalked, they were as good as untouchable while “walking.” She could always find him again - planeswalkers could sense another with an awakened “spark” even over the distances of the multiverse - but it wouldn’t do her any good now. It’s like Myali-sama said…If you can always find someone, you don’t need to tail them all the time.
“Eva…”
[Physic Powered.] Silver energies, channelled through the Device, flowed over Lyria, surging into her wounds, soothing and mending her body. [Are you all right, Shas‘El?]
“Yeah…thanks. I’ll live.” She stood up, checked herself for any more injuries. A few bruises, a small cut missed, but nothing worse. “So now what? Despite what he said, I do think of Midchilda as “my” plane…It’s my bloodline’s home, and I’d hate to see the Endwalkers get a foothold there. Think it’s worth raising the alarm?”
[The Endwalkers, as we well know, are corrosive, not destructive, in terms of spreading influence. They hold little power in areas of peaceful administration because they are an anarchic cult. That said, vigilance alone is no deterrent to corrosion, and Dhuriv has never made a proposition he does not intend to support with action. I believe you are correct in suggesting we alert the TSA, but to raise a full alert would be an overreaction.]
“That’s about what I was thinking. Let’s go.
Lyria slung Evangelion’s blade onto her belt, deactivated its shield, and began to draw out her own planeswalking power. A glyph of sky blue materialized under her boots, countless runes weaving about it. She made a series of swift motions with both arms, allowing the light to become one with her.
[Lightwalk.]
In a flare of dazzling light, Lyria vanished, her own path now shining before her.
Haa. Done at last.
This is my third OC, and the main character of a story I have in mind. I'm not much for ficlets, but I hope you guys like this.
Inspiration really is a wonderful thing. And as always, feedback is much appreciated. TK, put the AHAX Rifle away.
Oh, and the chick's name is Satsuki Ikaruga. I didn't bother to find where from.
*blinks, then calmly gets up. After rumaging through a chest for a moment, returns with a harrisen*
WHAM!
I finished reading the profile, even though I don't know why I bothered to go beyond the 'level of god' thing. I mean, do I even have to point out how obviously insanely H4XX this character is? This just about defines the very essense of 'god-modding'
The Aces are known as the cream of the crop in the TSAB, this girl completely owns even Hayate in magic rank, and would hardly have to exert any effort in beating all of them at once. With her hands tied behind her back.
seriously, how the hell do you reconsile this?

Surprisingly nothing much to comment on in the few hours I'm off. Will comment on some of the new OCs later, been up for the last few hours playing Tales of the Abyss when I'm supposed to be sleeping. Off to take a nap (at 10 a.m ).
Actually, Kha wasn't asking from which game Priecia was from, he was asking from which game Sol was from.

Ahahaha, no no that's not what happened. What happened was that I stumbled upon Erhjegel's signature, and got curious as to what anime/game his signature was from. After a bit of researching, I found Shirogane no Soleil.

Hello? Creator of arguably the most balanced S-rank character in the thread? Have a little more faith.

DIARY OF A WINDTALKER
HALLOWEEN SPECIAL, PART VII ACT II
Spoiler for space-saving:
// second round //

-x-x-x-x-x-
// 20 minutes later //
Hanaste! Iyah! Dareka! Dame! AH~~~~~~”

“Mou! That’s just like you!”

“No, you don’t have to be a meido. But the rest is the same. I want you to wake me with ‘oyaho gozaimasu’ and tell me ‘oyasumi nasai’ in the evening. I would like you to fill me with lots of kindness and joy. With these stakes, even if I win or if you win, we’ll always be together.”

Not really, Hyaweh is pretty good looking... And so is that guy from Alicematic...
Though Hakuoro is kinda... Meh.

Same here
Very rarely is the main girl my favorite
At this point, I prefer Kyou over Tomoyo... And not completely because of the TWO FOR ONE deal...!

Both quoted for truth. Inspiration's what you make of it - just pick a concept, add your own BS, stir well, and it works! Just go with your ideas and you can't go wrong.
And the bluecheesium around here is matched only the backlog.

This is stamped NO FUCKING GO how the FUCK did you think this would be even VAGUELY acceptable?! I"m not even sure where to begin, but how about the letters "SSS"?
It's late now so I can't be assed to tear this down in detail (not that I need to go into much to see it's BROKEN), but I'd seriously like to hear the twisted logic I assume you have that makes you think this is any kind of "okay.".
========================
Also Content!
It started out as a simple thing… Since I’m going to have a war I’m obviously going to need more then like 10 guys to fight it! So I figured I’d invent some troops for the OC to lead! Well that got a little out of hand and now here I am 3,000 words later having managed to OC-ify a real life Special Forces unit into a magical commando brigade…
Spoiler for SIZE:
75th Ranger Regiment: Date of Formation: MC 45 Base of Operations: 82nd Administered World Type: Special Operations Forces Strength: 1800~ Combat troopers, + numerous military and civilian support personnel. Unit Motto: Rangers lead the way! Branch: 82nd AW PDF, TSAB Air Force Special Operations Branch. Background:
The 75th Ranger Regiment is an Elite PDF (Planetary Defense Force) unit drawn from recruits on the 82nd administered world and increasingly off world volunteers. The force numbers about 1800 soldiers in totally composing three 600 man battalions. Each battalion is a unit onto itself and can be deployed independently, as can even individual companies of around 200 troopers each. The unit tends deploys at the battalion level, but normally this is a theater level deployment and it’s rare for more then a reinforced company to fight in any single operation. An entire battalion, never mind the regiment massing for an operation is basiclly unheard of as pitched conventional warfare is not the formations primary mission.
The Rangers were born shortly after the 82nd integration into the TSAB and leverage off that world’s existing Special Forces heritage. Training is not done under normal TSAB standards, it’s considerably harsher in nearly all aspects and many things besides simply magic are heavily emphasized. Such as training with various non-magic weapons, as well as explosives, infiltration, wilderness survival, air assault operations on a large scale, hostile planetary landings, and urban combat. Some allege the training verges on brutalization of the recruits and injuries are common place with even deaths not unheard of. This is viewed by many TSAB officials as another sign of the 82nd world’s borderline barbarism and blatant disrespect for proper social norms, charges often leveled at other elite units such as some of the more Spartan Air Force units as well.
Also unlike the TSAB army at large discrimination is an open and accepted policy among the Rangers, a certain power level is required to join and if it’s not meet the person is disqualified instantly. Further anyone that refuses to meet standards or shows slow development is also expelled. The slightest sign of incompetence can also result in expulsion; the pass rate for the training is tiny less then 10% and ejection even after acceptance not all that rare. The only thing allowing the unit to keep up to strength is that it’s reputation now draws applicants from all over TSAB space, but rather then water down the process this has merely resulted in even higher standards as the pool of recruits as grown. Anyone looking to join must be a Citizen and Resident of the 82nd though and so those that come already have an unusually high motivation.
The intense training produces a breed of soldier fundamentally different then most in the TSAB though. Many soldiers in the TSAB forces view themselves as much as police officers and or protectors as anything else, but the Rangers consider themselves soldiers first, and only. Rangers rarely take part in normal day to day patrols or investigations and are used almost exclusively in high intensity combat situations. Life on the often rough fringe of the TSAB provides plenty of work though and quickly helps weed out the weak and useless and likewise quickly hardened those that remain. Rangers are often viewed by many TSAB units as slightly crazy and barely under control and far too prone to use force and taking far too much pride and joy in the more martial aspects of the TSAB function. This is of coruse something of a stereotype, but like most such things a grain of truth permeates it.
Combat Tactics and Organization:
As a Special Operations assault force the rangers train in little besides combat tactics, and strategies, due to their position on the fringe they often encounter the unknown and “illegal” and so have experience with and tactics for a wide variety threats which they drill in nearly consonantly. When not actively deployed a Ranger work day consist of little besides hard drilling and briefings on the latest possible threats.
Having grown out of the planets older Special Forces troops Ranger show some mark biases and preferences toward those old groups in their style, ranged weapons are vastly preferred virtually to the exclusion of melee combat which is drilled in, in a strictly defensive role. Mobility, surprise, and shock effect are emphasized slug fests and dueling greatly frowned upon. Tactics revolve totally around the team and individualism is viewed as having no place in a combat unit and is in fact punished. Loyalty and dedication to the team and unit are what matters; individual prowess means nothing without these.
Squads are the building blocks of the entire formation and each one numbers around 12 men, these squads tend to be fairly stable, but may grow or shrink or alter as specialists are added and removed or the exact mix changed to suit a mission. These squads form Platoons of around 50 men, and finally these Platoons form companies and then the battalion at each level an increasing number of staff positions are added, as are specialized support assets. Ranger units boost a very lopsided structure in terms of rank as due to the skills and experience most operators have very few are below the rank of sergeant and even units as small as squads can be lead by Lieutenants. Virtually all these officers are promoted from inside the Rangers though and to be assigned from outside is very rare.
Ranger are also officially a PDF unit for the 82nd and so are technically under that planets control; however there reputation and skills mean that at least some part of the force is effectively always nationalized and deployed on TSAB business somewhere. The Air Force SOPCC in particular is known for using nationalized Ranger teams as a major part of its striking arm during major operations with the private contractor taking care of the more low profile work.
Since first and foremost Rangers are assault troops meant to be deployed in situations were heavy combat is expected. They trained in nearly all methods of insertion into an area foot infiltration, teleportation, dropships, etc. Ranger are shock troops though and while they have great combat power they lack staying power being effectively light infantry they suffer if locked into protracted combat as they carry minimal supplies in many cases and their tactics tend to rely on surprise and shock to achieve quick low cost victories. Proper application and planning is thus vital to maximize their advantage and mitigate weak points.
Magic System:
Most Ranger’s use a magic system that though heavily based on Mid has been mutating nearly since their inception with the pace accelerating recently. As briefly mentioned it massively favors ranged combat nearly all Rangers are user of variants on magic guns, but it also greatly favors stealth and surprise and so illusion magic is greatly prized as well, again playing into the their goal of keeping the enemy off balance and confused to maximize the effect of the applied force.
Another aspect is a massive use of cartridges, but in a somewhat unique way most mages use cartridges for massive boosts of power to a spell they themselves are channeling, but the Rangers use them instead them to provide a steady but lower powered supply of mana without needing to supply any themselves for a short time. This allows the user to focus on other things like shielding or illusions while still attacking, it also allows for a very rapid stream of attacks to employed, though at the expense of potential power. This allows them to put out rather staggering amounts of fire as long as ammo holds outs and they don’t push it too hard. In effect the cartridges are used as true “magic bullets” instead of batteries.
This aspect also drives the design of Ranger devices; said devices are standardized but come in a fairly wide range none the less. These devices are almost universally of the storage variety and feature little intelligences and most don’t even speak being regarded as simply weapons by most operators. This is another aspect of the system in that Ranger are often known to swap devices if they fell another will be more useful in a particular mission, and they all train on a variety of them though they still often specialize in one type.
The weapons all have large magazines for cartridges and though nearly all are ranged they’re also specialized for certain tasks. Devices weren’t really meant to take this much power without the user to help manage it though and so these devices have a habit of overheating and breaking at an accelerated rate despite construction tolerances that border on armed devices, this is also why the user is required to cast any kind of high level spell. On the plus side that rugged build allows them to be used as melee weapons to a point as they’re quite sturdy. Many also have some allowance for a bayonet if things get really desperate.
This system has found some purchase among the larger magic community as well and ex-ranger now teach it outside the force and it has slowly begun to grow as a style in its own right.
Another aspect of the force is that once more going back to their SF route Rangers also forgo the normal classification of positions in a team used by the TSAB in favor of their own system derived from the old squad structure: Riflemen:
The base of a team balanced in most aspects but with a preference for single target shooting though often with some limited forms of AOE. His defenses are good, but not outstand and his speed is fairly good but again not extreme, well balanced they form the base of most squads. Grenadier:
Specialized for area damage, but with a lower capacity for heavy damage on a point target, very good for dealing with enemies using masses of weaker troops or to soften up tougher enemies, but less suited to dealing with heavily defended individual targets, a bombardment mage in most ways. His speed and defenses will tend to be similar to a Riflemen. Heavy Weapons:
Specialized to supporting and covering other members of the team the Heavy Weapons mancan put down a hail of suppressing and harassing fire and deal with massed enemies nearly as well as a Grenadierin the right circumstances and is the go too man for very hard targets. He will also normally specialize in defensive spell as well at the cost of movement and other specialties spells. His job is form a base of fire for the team keeping the enemy suppressed and soaking damage while other elements maneuver to kill them and to deal with any particularly stubborn obstacles. Marksmen:
Made to deal with single high value targets at long range they emphasize precision and striking power at the cost of any sort of area of effect spells. Normally tasked with pinning or killing certain potentially dangerous enemy combats, but doing this will often demand good stealth skills as well so a high proficiency in illusion magic is preferred in this role. Due to this they often also serve as forward scouts for the team, but they tend to be a bit breakable and so need to be careful to stay out of sight they also aren’t that much faster then anyone else, just harder to see. Pointman: The name derived for the somewhat rare users of melee magic among the Rangers, though still required to wield a ranged weapon these men will also often carry a secondary device for close combat. Said secondary device is often a personal weapon inspected and approved for carry as the only close combat device the Ranger will provide is a well built, but fairly mundane broadsword. How the Pointman is used depends on his exact abilities, but generally he’ll be used as a riflemen with the order to engage any melee fighters that get close. Since he tends to be fast as well he’ll also sometimes be used as a scout or literal Pointman into an unknown area, but due to his divided focus his shooting tends to be weak. Medical Sergeant: Fairly self explanatory, but all medics just like the rest of the team ARE trained combatants and though their specialization reduces their combat potential somewhat they’re not sitting ducks by any means. Technical Sergeant: Charged with various technical support functions such as scanning, teleportation, communications etc. These troops unlike medics will often even further specialize into one area; a team may have several of these in various disciplines.
Devices:
All ranger devices are fairly standardized, but though two deceives might look similar externally it’s possible they have internal differences to account for power levels and such. Still overall many Ranger devices share competent and looks helping to reduce costs and promote a homogenous and unified look. Assault Rifle Class:
AR class Devices are the best balanced of the various types with good sized magazines, power, range, and versatility several models are stocked with slight biases toward some aspect of the class, but all are fairly close. This is the primary weapon used by riflemen and grenadiers, and noncombatant specialist so is the most common type. Grenadiers Rifle:
Effectively and assault rifle with a secondary mode that allows for higher throughput to aid bombardment and area spells. Marksmen Rifles:
With smaller magazine and larger size then ARs, but a higher power output and range marksmen rifles tend to be slow to fire and charge but pack a wallop normally hitting with the most force of any weapon in the team, if only hitting one thing at a time sadly. These weapons have quite a range though with some being little more then slightly boosted ARs and others being veritable hand cannons that are nearly impossible to fire on the move. Heavy Weapons:
These are the most diverse weapons ranging from machine guns that can lay down writhing barrages, to small hand carried auto-cannons, up onto things that are damn near shoulder mounted howitzers a weapon for ever problem more or less.
*Details pending*
Barrier Jacket:
The line troops of the Rangers, like most TSAB clerks and troops, use their own standard Barrier Jacket the main changes are a much more subdued default coloration, better all around protection, and a face covering helmet. The Jackets also feature a limited form of active camo in that they have several stored patterns that can be adopted based on the circumstances normally it’s some version of woodland, desert, urban, and night, but it can be altered depending on the terrain expected.
The Jacket isn’t special otherwise it’s somewhat more bulky (but no less maneuverable) then those worn by most clerks and provides marginally higher protection, but not outstandingly so, some minor variant exist including some uprated versions for the more potent members of the force.
Spells:
In addition to standardized weapons and Jackets most Rangers also work off a versatile but standardized spell list as well. These spells will vary in power as the user grows and not all people use them all but most Ranger will be able use most of them at some level.
Attack Spells: Cartridge based:
These spells can be executed solely with the cartridges in the weapon requiring no input from the user, well beyond a mental command for the weapon to change modes and a pull of the trigger.
Shooting (low, medium, high power/rate): This spell simply fires their weapon the rate and power level can be varied in proportion to each other IE lots of low power shots, fewer high powered ones. The total output depends mainly on the weapon being used though higher power uses more rounds per bolt the rate being 3-1 for low, 1-1 for medium, and 1-2 for high power shots. The higher power bolts from an assault rifle tend to be roughly even to an Accel shooter round. The user can also use their own mana to keep from draining cartridge in which case the power and fire rate becomes user dependent, even in this mode cartridges can still be loaded though to allow for higher power. Homing Rounds: Same as above expect the bolts home in after firing, twice the cartridge use per shot of the same power if solely using them. Burst Rounds: Used by grenadiers effectively the same as above only with bigger cartridges and the bolts explode on impact with considerable force again the exact yield can be varied by using more or fewer of the heavy cartridges loaded into the weapon per blast. They can also be set to burst at specific distances or home, again at a higher cartridge use or requiring mana from the user. Buster Shot: A fairly standard busterspell it loads a large number of cartridges(10 minimum, normally around 20 are used in an assault rifle) and then discharges a fairly intense energy beam at the target, this is the largest spell that can be fired solely usingcartridges in the weapon and it strains most of them badly usually only one of these can be fire ever 30 or so seconds and the weapon will need to cool down directly after firing as well, loading all the cartridges also takes several seconds as well potentially allowing someone to interrupt it.
User Based Attacks: Buster Shot: Basiclly the same as above but by having the user aid the device in forming the spell it can be done without cartridges and repeatedly in a shorter time period. This is the standard medium-high power attack used against barriers and such. Grenadiers will tend to specialize more heavily in this and Burst Rounds and their devices are tuned for them at the expense of other areas.
Defensive: Round Shield: The bog standard shield used by magic users all over TSAB space it needs no introduction or explanation, aside from to noted that the strength will obviously be based on the user. Protection Powered: Again a very common spell used by hordes of mages. Movement:
Illusion/Concealment: Silhouette Disruption: A low level spell that breaks up a user outline combined with good camo the broken smudged form is very hard to spot, particularly at night.
Device Dependent: Snipe Shot: Used mostly by marksmen effectively a very high power bolt designed to penetrate shields and cover with lethal force, also kept small to make it harder to spot and track slow to fire though.
But she did THIS and THAT to Ginga, and Ginga didn't even resist!
not that we didn't like Frieda doing it to Ginga anyway.... >_>
Frieda: *holds Ginga* now, Ginga, would you like me to show you my secret world? Ginga: Frieda.... *holds Frieda back* yoroshiku onegaishimasu.... Frieda: dewa.... *takes off glasses*
"Darry, if you lose to me, you better prepare yourself.”
“What will you do if you beat me?”
“Obviously, you’ll become my meido! From ‘ohayo gozaimasu’ to ‘oyasumi nasai’, you’ll be in my service! ”
“Mou! That’s just like you!”
"If I win, you’ll become my personal meido and serve me to my heart’s content each and every day. And you’ll have to properly refer to me as 'Goshujin-sama’!”
“Not unless I get to wear a cute outfit !”
"That can be arranged..."
"What about my reward?"
"Huh?"
“I would like… the same prize you’ll get...”
“You want me to be a meido ?!?”
“We’ll be together, but if I win, I’m going to add Mai, Gwen, and Keroko as meido in the future!”
