Came here to say that I watched this for Ohana and finished it for Ohana.

I think the thing I like Ohana the most for is her willingness to admit that she needs to change aspects of herself that hurts others. She tries through the entire show to become more considerate of how others feel and she tries her best and then falls in love with her job and the inn. She doesn't always succeed, and sometimes she's very clumsy, but after hesitating she's not afraid to run forward when she decides her course.

Ohana has a good personality in that she recognizes other's feelings, she never discounts how others feel even if it hurts her and she's not afraid to change her mind about a situation if she realizes she's viewing things too narrowly.

When she's confronted by the girl who liked Ko and wants Ohana out of the way, she reacted completely differently than Minko did finding out Tohru might like Ohana. Sure they were both hurt by their discoveries, but the juxtaposition of their different reactions show how different these two characters are. She even recognized how serious the other girl was and realized she was being selfish, when she was scolding Ko she stopped herself realizing she didn't have a right to when she was doing the same thing -- once again, completely different from how Minko was with the omurice incident.

Yeah, it's good they picked Ohana to be the protagonist of the story. I like a self-aware main-character who can say things like "I'm really the antagonist" in her own drama.
