My mother and sister aren’t around, so I leave a note on the fridge. My mother also left a note on the fridge, telling me that she left sandwiches inside it.

Well, that erases my need to leave the house... except that, even after eating the sandwiches, I'm still hungry.

...Odd. Well, off I go, then.


[Scene: Corner Store]

There's a small Western-styled convenience store just outside of the residential district, within walking distance of my house. It is, as its name suggests, convenient.

Not only does they sell the usual magazines and cheap snacks, but also canned goods and the like at cheap prices, making this place ideal for the middle-class household without the time or need to prepare food from scratch.

Which is why Nagato is here, I suppose.

Yeah, it's Nagato. No one else wears a school uniform on her day off.


Kyon: Hey.


Since she doesn't appear to have noticed me, I tap her on the shoulder.

I make sure the clerk is busy with another customer, then lean in close to Nagato.

She inclines her head towards me, ever so slightly.


Yuki: ... Food is not a requirement for the sustenance of Humanoid Interfaces. There are other ways of maintaining adequate nutrition. However...

And with that short burst of loquacity, she fell silent again, and continued to pack various items into her basket.

Kyon: Sorry?

Yuki: I am purchasing supplies for a dinner party.


Nagato appears to be hosting a dinner party at some point in the near future.

Maybe she means something else other than the established definition of 'dinner party'. I can't imagine Nagato having friends over, and if it was a party for the SOS Brigade, you can bet Haruhi would already have mentioned it.

She turns to me, seemingly not bothered by the considerable weight of her basket, which was overflowing with canned goods, juice cans, small snacks, and other such things.


Yuki: You are coming.


...So, was that an order, or an invitation...? Help me out here, Nagato. I don't understand what you're trying to say.

As I was being confused, Nagato had already gone over to the cash register and... had paid with exact change.

Come to think of it... where does she get money from, anyway?


The bemused clerk was now packing her groceries into a couple of bulging bags... they look even weightier like that than they did in the basket.


Kyon: Hey, let me carry those for you, Nagato.

Yuki: ...No need...


And grabbing all the full-to-bursting bags with one hand, she heads out the door.

Yuki: ...Bookstore.

I actually liked it. There is nothing really happening, but it was a nice scene and I think you did Nagato's characterization just right here.

Well, there is nothing to say hee, but I really liked the scene. Specially the conversation in Dinner Party...?, I think it was a good characterization for both Yuki and Kyon.

Btw, reading this I noticed I missed a scene in my previous mini-archive post. And it was a very important scene, sorry for that, Nephy.

The Misa-lookalike is Mariya Shidou, and he's the best damn male lead of all time.

And you'd be surprised about traps and breasts... the trap in H20 had breasts until he was finally seen naked... somehow.
