Umm. I believe that Hades is simply someone in Akira's class. Someone he didn't recognize. There's not even the list of all the student in their class with photo shown like in some other survival manga so the possibility that Hades is just another student in the same class as Akira should not be dismissed. In fact, how come Hades being Akira's clone becomes more reliable than just someone n the same class? Hades even witnessed that Arita killed the pilot if Hades himself wasn't nearby when the incident occurred?
Hence I think cloning Akira and co. is simply bullcrap. The facility has been abandoned for at least 40 years with no other humans there! |

Even if they were cloned ... It doesn't explain why the scientist all died and wtf is the last bacteria incident that just happened.
It needs to be at least 100 page to explain everything, otherwise such a bad ending will truly ruin the whole manga. |

For some reason Sengoku mother planted this island with edible plants and build main building in shape of school. It's like she created this island not as memorial of dead passengers but as a safe place for her son. I know that Raika island is not a safe place because of wild animals, but she was forced to recreate those animals by Minas grandfather. For me it looks like she, somehow, expected those plane will crash in Raika island some time int he future.
As for theory that all still living passengers are clones. First, there are no people or working machinery around, so no one to "plant" them there, including large plane. Second, if cloning humans is theoretically possible, and probably will be practically possible in close future, copying of mind is not. There is not even a hypothesis allowing such miracle, recreating memories of someone long dead is even less possible. Third - it was rather easy to collect their DNA sample just after their disappearing (from cloth, brushes etc.) so creating a whole island just to clone Mina and others was not necessary. As of Hades, I doubt his background will be explained, If so, I expect him to be another Akira but from different time line.

I believe the plane that the Sengoku and his class was riding on was caught in a time shift which basically trap the plane in a time zone frozen until 100 years later where they later crash onto the man-made island that was made.

Hopefully I finished The last story on wii just before, and the game got a good ending compared to what I just read.
Now let's pass on something else, maybe I should redo tales of graces to maintain a proper amount of sanity. |

Author probably didn't know how to end it, thus kept on dragging it out with pointless plot developments and thus losing her readers, and finally getting cancelled and having to force a nonsensical ending.
Basically, write your ending first then work your way towards that ending. |

it didnt get cancel, believe or not this manga was still pretty popular back in japan so i still hope for a sequel with a different title.. but i agree this ending was not right, what happened to arita and hades? they stayed back in the island and the evil doctor is still alive but one of his legs is missing, talk about divine punishment lol

Man I hate to be right. Just how I knew it would go down.
Spoiler for Finale:
A wholly underwhelming ending to say the least. Lots of things unexplained and questions unanswered. Considering how great the manga has been, this final chapter definitely leaves a bad taste through and through. I feel particularly bad for Akira's mom. At least her sacrifice paid off. |
