In fact, the whole dialog between Inaba and Heartseed concerning hiding in one's room during the duration of this experiment would suggest exactly the opposite. /shrug

The way I see it is that it's a desire that you're trying very hard to contain- At a certain boiling point the supernatural effect would trigger and unleash the flood.

He then explains the gimmick. It's evident enough that the mechanic is trigger based. Also, when he answered the shutting in room part, he said he "will make it more interesting". Meaning he will interfere, further pointing out that it's not a passive gimmick. Edit: Correction, Heartseed said it will be interesting either way, and he "will make it more interesting" when necessary. |

I think it's triggered when you have a sudden urge to do something. It would fit somewhat nicely with the events so far. However, it probably is troll-random.
Was I the only one that was scared it would get a bit dull when it entered a new "arc"? I'm happily surprised that it turned out to be rather good!

For brevity's sake, I'm going to call this "Id Mode". The characters aren't passively in constant Id Mode, but are triggered into it by a voice in their head. While in Id Mode their inhibitions basically go away entirely - I take it as comparable to being drunk, but with more basic intellectual capacity and no slurred speech/clumsiness. During Inaba's attempt to force herself on Taichi, she was in Id Mode, but I don't think that he was.

So it seems like each gimmick is designed to be extremely difficult for one of the characters?
The Body Swapping preys on Iori's lack of self image. This arc will attack Inaban's self imposed restraints. I'm a little curious about the gimmicks Heartseed would use to attack the other 3. Yui could be particularly affected by a loss of her strength I suppose. Aoki is defined by his doting over Yui so perhaps his trap would be some mechanism to make people forget who he is. Taichi is all about being a "selfless freak", I'm not sure what affliction would be suitable for him. I'm thinking it would involve isolation from the ones he care about. Overall though I find myself losing some interest in the show but will stick with it for a few more eps at least. |

Hmm, can't be sure overall what to feel about the new arc. Will have to watch more I guess. I sure hope we get more than 1 'desire' from people. If all Yui does is hit things and all Inaba does is jump on Taichi, that'd be kinda meh. Which also raises the 'interesting' point that Inaba's desires have her jumping on Taichi, whilst Taichi and Iori's desires are to just talk to each other.... (well Iori at least, no idea what Taichi was gonna do).
Plus it seems like it'll repeat the same issues from the first arc. Yui's androphobia, Inaba's trusting issues and Iori's personality issues. Which could go either way really. While it definitely feels more natural that those issues weren't just magically solved by Taichi being the White Knight, it feels like something that was closed is being reopened. Either way, I hope there's no more White Knight Taichi scenes. Not too sure on the whole love triangle either. Stems from how Inaba pushed Iori and Taichi together, but she also has feelings for Taichi. I hate that I'm getting a School Days vibe from this triangle. I know it'll most likely be nothing like School Days, but those are some bad memories :< . Heartseed could essentially push Inaba and Taichi's desires for each other up, and make them deal with the consequences. Which would be what, we couldn't control ourselves so not our fault? Again, unlikely to happen, but only because plot says so rather than it being a natural thing.

I wonder how Iori and Taichi's relationship will be tested during this ordeal considering that Iori suggested that they should distance themselves from it for awhile. Interesting direction to take considering that it leaves more window of opportunity to test their new found relationship with each other. It seems Himeko is starting to be affected by this a little bit drastically compared to the others...

It's safe to say that she did the said act because Himeko definitely strikes me as the type not to joke about things due to her direct to the point and honest personality.
I wonder if this arc will focus on a bit more on Himeko considering that she seems to be the most nervous about the whole thing...could be wrong here, but that's the impression that I've got from the end of the episode.

The new ending to me doesn't even come close to the first, but it's still a nice song nonetheless.
Aside from that, the atmosphere of this show is fantastic. You can feel the unnerving animosity at all times and although it never really throws you for a loop, it certainly does keep you on your toes. Can't wait to see what happens next, Nagase's entire script in this episode worries me.

I really enjoyed the scene when Taichi suddenly got a burst of anger against Yuri-megane and Inaba had to restrain him a bit when he was under the influence.
I'm looking forward to seeing Taichi display many emotions never seen on his face before when he's usually the the nonchalant character that seems to take everything with a straight face. Also, really enjoyed Inaban's explanation at the end as to why her desires triggered. Regardless of which parts were and which parts was making excuses. "Came across a dirty picture" So basically Inaba admits to the habit of looking at porn on her laptop in the clubroom when everyone else is doing their own thing. Exhibitionist-ish. Regardless, upon seeing the dirty picture she imagined doing it with Taichi, or any male or female in the room could have been good enough. Also looking forward to any 'small' desires being acted upon. "I want a candy bar, but don't feel like spending the money, so I just not get one" turns instead to them taking the candy bar and finding themselves outside the store being caught shoplifting.
