In the case here, Haruna and Yue discovered Negi using magic to save Nodoka from a fall, and after they force Nodoka to provide information about Negi's magic, they spied on them and had Nodoka make Negi execute her contract in order to confirm that he is indeed a mage (poor Nodoka-chan).

Anyways, what a difference it is when the same incident happens in two different universes. In the manga, I can easily understand Yue not wanting to make a Pactio with Negi, considering how much she cares about Nodoka (and her feelings for Negi). On the other hand, when it comes to the SHAFT anime version of the same incident, the added plot point of Negi being turned into an animal if a non-partner discovers his secret makes me somewhat upset as Yue's actions, as she's putting her own feelings (the fear that her kissing Negi will upset Nodoka) over the reason of why she needs to Pactio (to ensure that Negi doesn't get turned into an animal).

in the original serie, this statement is also true : if a mage let the "magic" matter being spotted by anyone not related, the mage will be turned into an ermine, depending the circonstances and the scale of the problem.

about that, i dunno why, but i feel that the black rose baron isn't "really" an enemy, rather is trying to increase negi's partners number with the indirect help of Motsu and Shichimi (i was really thinking about it, back in episode 5, with konoka and setsuna.)

Interesting idea that this is all some sort of backdoor prep for Negi's strike team but that would be a really lame-ass way of doing it .... though as we all know anime is bulging with lame-ass reasons for doing things

After watching the 11 episode 11.. its pretty safe to say that Asuna has lost it.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing what powers Haruna gets thanks to the Pactio - i have my fingers crossed hoping its the same as the original manga.

The Baron's identity is starting to get into my nerves.

"Given how much Yue and Haruna are in the manga, I would have thought that they would have gotten their contracts earlier - at least before the Narutaki twins. Anyway, there was a point during this episode that I thought Negi might contract with both girls at the same time, but that turned out not to be the case. If I had to guess, I’d say that this would be resolved just like it’s been done for the past however-many-episodes: Negi needs to get Yue to kiss him and form a provisional contract so that he can convince Shichimi and Motsu that she’s his partner. The catch here is that Yue is too embarrassed to kiss him, so Negi and company will have to chase her down and convince her to do it somehow. The wild card seems to be the Black Rose Baron, but it’s still unclear what his objective in all this is. Fittingly, the title of next week’s episode is by Yue."

so negi has increased his partners by one ~ seeing haruna soo care free about the kiss is really cute i really like her personality and talk about a hot kiss

yue on the other hand is reluctant enough to run away ~ i would have never expected such a reaction from the normally cool and calm yue ~

main thing is what will the baron do to yue?

Actually, if you've read the manga, there's a very good reason as to why Yue is so reluctant to kiss Negi. However, since I'm sure it will probably be brought up in the next episode, I'll hold off explaining the reason for now.

Would the new series even bring that in now? They haven't built up on the situation or anything. I'm just saying that there could be another reason as to why she doesn't want to kiss him.. but they'll probably go with the same from the manga.

oh yes hold that off for now ~ maybe when after the reason in the anime has been revealed you could tell us non manga readers what actually happens in the manga if the anime turns out to be different

wOW the KOREAN ART is KOREAN^2 in this episode. I have to stop mid episode before my eyes "Assploded", which is a shame cuz the episode is actually quite fun. I hope this is their way to "paying homage" to episode 10 of the original series, and not an indication of future "QUALITY", to quote a 4chan meme.

At this point there is so little continuity with the manga it seems pointless to expect *any* event or relationship portrayed in the manga to be seen in the series. I just heartily recommend taking the whole thing as fluffy omake and perhaps someone will take a shot at the series again at some future date.

That said... I'm still enjoying this manic little show, just emphasize the "?" in the title.
