Personally I'm totally fine with this. It also pretty much almost guarantees it'll be getting a sweet dual-audio (and I like both dubs and subs) Blu-ray release, which is awesome if this delivers like I hope it does No wondering about if it'll get picked up is nice.

Well hopefully the stream will actually work. I tried watching things on Funi's website tonight and kept getting the error message "stream not found".

Funi's website is all kinds of screwed up. I can't watch anything there when I'm logged in with my premium account, but it works fine if I'm logged out. (I believe if you're logged out, you get the Hulu player, while logged in it's their own streaming service.) I just use their Roku app for everything.

Honestly I tried everything logged in & out and on Chrome & Firefox (did not try IE so maybe that's next)

I am a free user with no Roku box (I'd consider getting one but I still have an old non-flat screen TV)

I figure Urobuchi is going to have a field day with this

Going by this line, I think they were more concerned about female-oriented pandering.

Urobuchi said Motohiro protects him from noitamina producer's demands to add appealing elements for female audience.

All these bishounen seem appealing enough for the girls anyway, so I don't know what they're thinking.

This show sounds like it might be cut from the cloth of the super flat movement. Should prove an interesting watch. As for Gen, the more he talks the more he sounds like the second coming of Yoshiyuki Tomino.

It's not the character designs but the selection of male seiyuu that is appealing to me as a female fan.

Can't say what the female Japanese viewers are thinking though. I did see one spread of two of the main guys together so it does make me think they are targeting that audience a bit.

Just hope I will actually be able to watch it tonight!

Silly Motohiro, does he really think that'd stop fans from finding/seeing the subtext they want?

Yeah, even though the creators go out of their way to stop them!

Oh wait...

First episode was.... interesting. Things seemed a bit forced/contrived, but this isn't uncommon for Urobuchi. I'll have to see a few more episodes to decide if I keep watching.

Btw, it seems Akane is the protagonist, at least in this first episode. We'll see what happens later on.

The way I see it some people would see things any way they want it at times based on how they perceived something to be before they had a chance to experience it. Generally when this disconnect happens you get one of two results. People either complain about it on the internet or they make doujin/fanfiction. On some occasions you even get both at the same time.
