My guess would be that the initial plan was to only cover up to the end of this arc. With the series doing well in the ratings, it's run has since been extended. Likely too late to re-animate episodes and still be cost effective.

I'm rather disappointed...
First by the lack of filler material... Bixlow vs Lucy + Loki, could have been longer and I would have really liked to see a good full Cana Vs Freed... The lack of filler fighting and how quickly they are getting through this arc has me worried about the future of the series... if the plan to animated the WHOLE manga, then if they keep up this pace they'll catch up to the manga in no time... and y'know what that means; entire arcs of filler

I'm also disappointed by Mira vs Freed... I just don't think it was all that well animated. I felt there was a serious lack of "impact" throughout the fight... for instance, Compare Mira's awakening during the opening and her awaking in the episode; the opening makes her awaking seem 10 times more epic, just by how its animated... and I felt that also in many of the attacks; there just seemed to be a lack of weight and impact and made the fight feel a bit tame to me.

Though i did like the end, namely Mira's little speech... honestly the combination of that soundtrack and Mira's incredibly sweet and loving voice makes for a truly heartbreaking performance

That's assuming they were really removed...
Right now i'm of the opinion that they may have just been rearranging when certain things happen... The moment you are referring to after the tower of paradise made refences to a future arc and not this one... as such, instead of making us wait, they could be just waiting until we get closer to that arc before giving us those scenes

You're only starting to complain about such things now? It's been like this since the start of the series, apart from a few very fantastic episodes.

Well it was a pretty busy episode. Think they could have extended some fights like Lucy+Loke and Cana's fight. Poor Cana gets taken down in one shot. Even Gray's loss was better than that.

Mira was just insane in this one. Completely owned Freed and would have crushed his skull into bits with that last punch. He really shouldn't be that surprised since if Mira hadn't been so shaken after what happened to Lisanna she'd be one of the top in the entire guild. Hard to say if she will take a more active role in the future since it's not like she healed all her wounds during this episode. Still it was one crazy fight with her throwing some great attacks at Freed.

Now it's time to take down Laxus. Geeze have Erza, Mystogan, Natsu, and Gajeel all gunning for that guy.

My favorite part of the ep was the PV, because I've been waiting to see Mystogan in action for 45 damn episodes. It was good overall, though - we finally got to see Mira's dark side.

On the down side, there have been distressingly few shots of Lucy's derriere in the last few episodes...

The thing with Ivan worries me though. I had actually thought Gajeel had joined Fairy Tail seriously like Juvia did. I can't help wondering how that's gonna pan out.

Pretty emotional episode. The battles weren't all that great but my standards aren't really that high...I was hoping to see Fried use his sword to like, engrave runes in the air/Elfman's body instead of just slashing. Still, that was a lot of drama for a single episode, I've had my fill Next week seems to focus on pure fighting, looking forward to it. Btw anyone else up for a Gazille VS Natsu rematch if the latter finds out about the espionage? Should be good...

lol you know the thing is that would probably be true, Hare lost the first race cause of his overconfidence but then after that he won't make the same mistake again, therefore wins all the races after

I loved the Mira-chan transformation as it's one of my favortie moments of the series
The fight was great stuff plus backed with the awesome OST, just makes it totally awesome!

Lol yeah I think the tortoise neglected to mention those and just kept telling people about it's epic first victory .

Beautiful win by Mira. Freed is lucky that Mira isn't the same person she used to be or else he probably would have been beaten unconscious. I can't really blame Mira for being so affected by Lisanna's death. I mean Elfman did the damage that killed her, but Mira had to watch her brother do that and then watch her sister slip away.

It's pretty heavily implied that Elfman only vaguely remembers what happened when he killed Lisanna (as he was Taken Over at the time), so I can see his direct trauma being less than Mirajane's.

Heh Mirajane's battle music sounds like something from Guilty Gear with that guitar. Thus I dedicate this song: Awe of She to 'Demon Mira'. To those who know GG, you all know this fits her. Too bad we don't see more of the Demon to make an exceptional AMV for her.
