To save from the pain of explaining it (which I'm afraid I can't do without making some stupid mistakes like bypassing the borderline between psychological and philosophical), there's a thread about it on animesuki, you can ask there.

I'm surprised you still hesitate here when it's just as crazy as Paranoia Agent at some point when it comes to exploring the human mind (especially the movies)

This is silly. We were talking about composers.

Because I don't understand what "psychological anime" has to do with Kanno in this post.

I have no idea what you are talking about here. Psycho-Pass? We still know next to nothing about it TBH.

^ I was talking about GITS in both posts, (also about how the psychedelic style Yoko Kanno used back then perfectly went with the show itself ... she had groovy scores too by the way)

Sorry, sorry, ^^"

Well back on topic, we can already exclude Kajiura for sure .
As for Sawano and Yoko Kanno, even if the composer isn't revealed tomorrow, we might already have a slight idea if we heard the trailer song in whole as Sawano's style is pretty easy to recognize.
Let's not exclude the possibility of it being someone else though. Any other possible candidate(s)?

Psychedelic and psychological don't mean the same and personally I don't really think SAC was either of those. Neither the anime, nor the soundtrack.

At least now I know what you meant though.

I know they don't mean the same thing, do you think I called the anime psychedelic and the music psychological or what? That doesn't even make sense (I think)
Though I have to heavily disagree with the GITS not being psychological.

From what you said probably the other way around but you tell me - I'm just picking on what you said.

Also, now that I know your comment here was about GITS as well

Kanno did not compose for the movies, so... Unrelated.

Also, about the movies that's right, my bad. She didn't do the first and Innocence ... but she did compose for Solid State society though.
Edit : Well, when we're at it she also composed for Rahxephon, this time I don't know what's "psychological anime" for you if you don't agree with that.

For the love of... she did not. She only did the opening number with Maaya. RahXephon OST was composed by Ichiko Hashimoto.

Please stop commenting on music in anime.

hoy hoy, how long are you going to misunderstand everything I say. I said she composed "for", not she composed "everything" or "composed the OST of Rahxephon" And she also did the one in the OVA. Oh, well I don't remember myself where this discussion come from either

Because doing one song for RahXephon is making Kanno a perfect fit for a psychological anime.

Makes perfect sense.

Edit: I'm dropping the subject now, too. Think we got everything out of it.

Well seems like you've already forgotten the two seasons of GITS, Solid states Society and the other two OVAs. Not even talking about her participation in Jin Roh ... meh

I could comment on that but let's drop it. We're going in circles.

No confirmation right now. I think it's best if we expect it to be a normal 11 episode noitaminA series. If it's longer than that, it'll be a nice surprise.
