Most stuff alread been said. I am happy about one thing which is Ultear apparently being EVIL after all which is preferable to her joining FT. Though I am not sure if she's workin for her own. She might just as likely see it as a perverse sort of entertainment for both Hades and herself to manipulate Gray into attacking him... Seriously folks. You think Hades would be taken down by an Iced Shell cast by Gray?!!!

nope, ice shell won't take down Hades. But Urtear stabbing him in the back while he is distracted would be enough.

point taken. still, I'm gonna trust Azuma here, he brought us a good fight and great shots of Erza, guy can't be wrong completely

And I doubt Hades is thr trusting kind anyways ... not to mentionthat even a mage of Ultear'S level of power ought to be VERY careful about backstabbing attempts that might suprisingly fail

Ultear is so backstabbing Gray on this one. I honestly doubt what Ultear is telling Gray. I doubt that Bluenote is done for yet.

Keep in mind, Deliora was a supposedly immortal monster that nothing had managed to kill for the last four hundred years or so despite it wiping out entire towns on a regular basis. Iced Shell not only sealed it away, but in the span of a few years, killed it.

I'm pretty sure that Iced Shell stands a good chance of taking out Hades if he doesn't keep Gray from using it. Of course there's the problem that it's effectively a suicide attack. Which likely suits Ultear just fine. Hades gets killed saving her further trouble there, and any part of her no matter how small that resents Gray for what happened to her mother gets the pleasure of him suffering the same fate.

But I think we all know Gray will never use iced shell, he's not the main character and this isn't the end of the manga, which is the only case I'd ever let him get away with doing that.

Maybe the newly made Azuma Tenrou Tree will save Gray from becoming an ice cube but still allow him to freeze Hades. Hades last words being "Ultear will unfreeze me! Hahaha!"

hm. UL's Iced shell took down Deliora and killed it. that tells us not so much about grays shell capabilities ^^ in any case I said that hades would oneshot him before he ever managed to get it started so doesn't matter if he theoretically "could" encase hades

If his iced shell can theoretically take hades down, then it would be a matter of strategising a way to do so. e.g. suicide run by the rest of FT to distract and hold Hades down.

Of course, it may not be that different from a well placed dagger... Although I doubt a dagger would have any effect, it would probably melt, shatter or get bounced off..

But let's face it--as someone else pointed out earlier, Gray is not going to be the one to kill Hades. It is almost certainly going to be Natsu given that this is a shonen manga, and Mashima is not one for plot twists. So it really doesn't matter how brilliant of a plan Gray comes up with, because he is going to most likely fail nevertheless simply due to the fact that he isn't one of the most important character in FT, while Hades is definitely one of the most badass bad guys
