Sand pasta was excellent, but what was really funny was Italy's gifts to Germany. The white flags were funny enough (reminiscent of all those old jokes about Italian tanks having one forward gear and five reverse, etc), but Machiavelli in a suitcase?

I was in tears, laughing so hard on Italian's preparation for war. Germany look pissed as usual.

I knew Italy was an awesome artist, but I didn't expect a pasta sand castle. 8D
Also I want to see some America next ep!

Episode 6

Yeah, the show has definitely found its pacing now. Normally, I'm mostly just grinning through the eps, but this time nearly everything got a chuckle out of me. I suppose it helps that the episode was also sort of centered around one of my favorites--a personal welcome surprise.

Dunno guys and gals (since you are the majority in this thread), I enjoy more the chibi parts. And I certainly want more greece we got only a cameo (albeit right at the money) in the 1st episode By the way since for the last four years I'm leaving in germany, I can assure you that he/it is perfectly stereotyped, at least for the POV of a foreigner

Greece is one of my favorites. He's nice and quiet--except where Turkey's involved--and I like his interactions with Japan.

Spoiler for Greece's intro from the print comics:

Well, dunno the mangaka should have known a lot of greeks, but from what I heard, living in NY it's hardly surprising. It's very casual, though not at all complementing, that we actually can ignore our heritage and sleep on it as long as it's temporarily convenient Though it's this kind of black humor that I like in Hetaria.

Germany: Oh yeah, I wonder how Austria-san is doing now?
Italy: Oh, he's been over there the whole time, you know?

Well, that explained where the music was coming from...!

Usually I don't like historical stuffs much, but this show is quite funny. I cannot seem to find a decent quality video tho.

Italy totally ruined Chopin's Nocturne!!! but that's hetare Italy for ya <3 it's also amazing how Austria and the piano is floating on water, lol

is there a specific reason that Austria is playing Chopin(French)? I would think that Austria might play something by a, well, Austrian composer?

Chopin is not French by birth. He's a Pole living in exile. But, he was a French citizen.

Then again, since Mozart is probably the best known Austrian composer internationally....

Probably because of the gag in the strip that Austria and France can't stand one another. (It's not quite as ongoing as the France VS England gag, but if you look at the strips with Maria Teresa, it's definitely there)

Oh, never thought of such option
I thought it was more within the lines of how Austria (and Germany, in fact) do the "anger management" with them suverting their "sternness" into ultra-unexpected quality of (international) (music) culture. More like the next tribute to their "stereotypisation" than actual historic events. But it might, however, have a connection - regarding the WWII and Chopin being Pole

Chopin is regarded as a Polish patriot, so...
