to me, Subaru's new outfit looks like a princess/queen's, though somebody pointed out the choice of black color for the outfit reminds somebody of a black funeral dress which is sort of unfortunate , to me it probably had to do with the dark energy theory hence the color,
at least Minato is back in action despite his condition, maybe as the sixth male ranger in the mahou shoujo team, which begs the question if the jell-o President still remembers him, heck fully recognize him after years passed.

so.... da ep 11...
turns out my joke earlier about having to go to the end of the universe.. may turn out to be true... due to the fragment traveling faster than light toward the end of the universe... LOL Quote:
Black is just a Witch Dress, lol Also, jelly-president saying "we been waiting for you" sounded so funny. "pi da da pi pu da" LOL |

By the way, do we know the name of Aoi's friend at her school (the girl with the red hair we see in the first episode snatching Aoi's book from her hands)? Her and the name of her Seiyuu aren't listed on the official website.
EDIT: Never mind, her name in the credits is listed as "Aoi's Friend". I just think it's interesting that she also has red hair. Maybe she's related to Minato or something. Last edited by Mangaka-chan; 2015-06-24 at 23:43. |

Ep 12 Finale
CR production side of things delayed it for about 12 hours, but in the end it worked out. As for the episode, I felt that was pretty nice on the whole. I had watched the OVAs before the season started and was curious what the series would bring, and it brought some nice things - this was a nice, lighthearted mahou shoujo piece sans choking despair and fanservice, yes, but it helped convey a little of the feel of the "magical" aspect of the phrase mahou shoujo. In other words, a little bit of the feeling of wonder and mystery as contrasted with battle magic. On the whole I thought it was pleasant and did a nice job at what it set out to do, with an extra nod to the storytelling style being ... erm ... non-linear (I guess?), but not needlessly confusing, pretentious or opaque ... at least for me. It did often leave me wondering what was going on and where the story was going, and engaged to keep watching to see how it would unfold. In other words - it was effective and successful overall. 7.5/10 for the series from me, and one I would definitely archive and watch again at another time.

Whew....that was an episode .
It certainly ends on a bittersweet note, though one with hope attached. They all went back to their respective...possible worlds, but with the growth that will let them step forward as individuals. Subaru now has the courage and strength to reach out to her world's Aoi and make friends there. That is an important thing for her. It is a bit sad seeing how Minato is still in the hospital. In some ways I was surprised that he didn't go along with the President into a new universe, one that may have a potential for him to fully live. But, I suppose you can't say it is all hopeless. If they were allowed to choose whatever they wanted then I can't help but think Subaru would have picked a possible world where Minato will eventually wake up. After all she kept on opening the door and I'm sure things will turn out ok somehow. I think this was a really good and emotional ride. At times I really didn't know what was going on and the truth behind everything, but that made it fun. Figuring out what was really going on here and just enjoying the ride. It was a nice story and glad I got to see it.

I have very mixed feelings on the ending.
I get that it's trying to end things on a good sentimental note of completed character growth. I also think the ending wants to be perceived as more happy than sad (the BGM is particularly suggestive here). To some extent it succeeds on both aims as I like Subaru's final scenes, particularly her catching back up with Aoi. I also liked Aoi's different student uniform. It is cute. But part of me feels that this ending is maybe... a bit too safe and indecisive? Particularly on Minato. I think I'd have preferred it if they had made a clear decision with him, either way. Given the clear-cut romance they had developed between him and Subaru, I think that would have had a greater emotional impact on me than the more ambiguous route they took. I mean, if Subaru unambiguously succeeded with Minato, and we saw him wake up in the hospital and embrace his new girlfriend, that could have been an excellent and moving moment of triumph. Maybe some would have found that overly sweet and conveniently happy, I guess, but I think it would have worked well for me, given just how wildly magical this show tended to feel. Alternatively, if Subaru had to clearly give up on Minato, there could have been a very effective tearful goodbye there. This middle of the road approach, that leaves it up to viewer interpretation, isn't as satisfying to me as a hard choice of either sort would have been. So I'm not entirely pleased with how Minato's story resolved itself, which sadly does take some of the charm away from the Subaru/Minato romance for me. That really is sad, because I loved how they had the balls to have the two characters kiss on-screen.

Actually, I think the ending works pretty well when you consider that it was all about possibilities. They've all been given new possibilities and it's now up to them to seize their possibilities.
We saw them all drawn together in the end, and it looked like Minato was watching the meteor shower from his hospital bed so he too has possibilities now. Sure, it's not a cross every 't' and dot every 'i' kind of ending, but sometimes that works. Overall, a show I enjoyed more than I'd expected to based on the original shorts. |

so the super nova kiss previously is confirmed, but man Subaru is quiet the daring lady, forcefully kissing Minato out in the open where everyone can watch, complete with the girls reactions, probably the President too, then the President could now speak fluent Japanese & that moment where they all realized they just used a cute shota guy as a pillow after Minato reverts him back to his old form,
my reaction the ending is don't worry kids, we will rebuild Minato with the power of scie........er possibilities, he'll be fine, by the way, what is the President's ship based of? a recent Subaru model with the headlights?

Just saw ep 12
*giggles* They did go to the "end of the universe", LOL, in fact, turns out they were "traveling" universes... Man... these jelly-beings are crazy... they're literally like Gods... cause they also possess the power to go into the past, to the beginning... and change things... And so... they all lost their memories of when they gathered together... And they didn't really show what happened to Minato... especially with the fact that they all lost their memories, so no one knows each other besides Subaru and Aoi being they were previously friends already. (or is the girls we know still 4 billions in the past and is slowly waiting for 4 billions to past and into the present before they all recover their memories?.... if it's this... doesn't this make them some sort of Gods... lol) Guess this is just a part of what the Jelly-beings do when they're bored... go around universes, gather ppls and turn them into mahou shoujos and watch the fun before heading to another universe... LOL Last edited by chaos_animagic; 2015-07-01 at 02:51. |
