There seems to be a problem with the quality. You could try to blue her a bit to get rid of the "pixilated look"

Oh, and put me down for making one...soon

Question

Where do you guys find such good pics to make into sigs?

I just use Google's Image Search.

Sheesh! Everyone is so fast w/ their works We've got until March 14th and I'm going to use the extended time! (also only free on weekends)
Everyone's looks great so far ^_^

Just my humble opinion, feel free to disagree:
1. I don't think it such a good idea for names to be listed next to entries during the voting phase since I think some people are persuaded to vote for the person they like more than actually choosing the work they find to be the best. Granted, several artists here have a distinct style, so it may be easy to guess who did which piece.
2. I also think it slightly...mmmm....strange to be allowed to post possible entries for public critique since the sig sometimes ends up a work of art affected by more than the artist's original intention. Instead of the artist's own interpretation of the theme, it can end up more as the community's idea of the theme. Is this too far-fetched of an observation?

I agree on this one, there are many people who just vote for the owner of the sig instead of the sig itself. Even tought some can be guessed it still is better to not put the name in front of it (or in the sig). So we have a fair contest.

Maby a change for the next contest?

I agree with both of Marina's ideas might give some of the lesser known artists here a more even playing field. And we might be able to see more variety and individual creativity if people submit their stuff secretly to Solace without any influence from other people.
anyway... im so slow with everything the 14th seems so close

I'm surprised people are pumping these out so quickly, myself. I had an hour at work today and was making a mental blueprint of how my entry will be, and I'm not even sure if I can finish it tonight. I'd wanted to make at least two so that I could ensure that I was submitting my best, but I may not have the time and inspiration for a second.

I agree with point #1. I've traditionally stayed away from the artist section of the forums so I don't know many of you, but all the artists seem like a pretty close-knit bunch. Most seem honorable enough to vote based on image rather than creator, but I could see how it might bias some people (especially if someone doesn't like someone else). I guess this idea would have to take effect for the next contest, though, given that many people are posting their works already.

I agree with point #2 as well, but it depends how far you want to take the competitive aspect. I'd imagine that many people here are relatively new to Photoshop, and receiving community criticism and advice can help them to improve quite a bit. A friendly competition also encourages all of us to try new things and challenge ourselves more than we otherwise might. Combine both aspects and we could all be learning quite a bit. From a purely competitive aspect, this is somewhat unfair to both the submitter and those competing... I suppose I see this as more of a friendly thing. But if I get 0 votes that attitude might change (just kidding, I'll make sure it doesn't)

Totally agree, we should have the entries masked (sent to Solace via PM) so that nobody can really determine whose it is or critique on the signature. Well, that gets rid of the purpose of having a entry thread tho
