However, these last few episodes have been far from "interesting". They've been quite dry and bland, save for the last scene from last episode, which they didn't even build off of in this one except for maybe a 5 minute scene. Which seemed a little odd considering how much focus they gave it last episode. |

specifically in the aspect of the young shinobi and thier sensei. look how Asuma and Kakashi do thier best to protect thier students while the majority of the young generation of soldiers in SnK die and are not even guided by their superiors during combat

The problem, if there really is any, is that SnK the anime was marketed as some sort of zombie survival horror with titans and non-stop action. Take a look at the introduction for example, I hated it when I first saw it because it didn't suit SnK at all. It's damn hype and I don't mind it now, but once again, it's not a good portrayal of what SnK is.

What Should Be Done. Night of the Counteroffensive - Part 3

I won't deny that Mikasa's right now got pretty toned down with her fawning over Eren, even she got to grow-up outside of her Eren fandomness during the Battle of Trost. However, what left a mark within me about the sixteenth episode was watching Jean, Sasha, Connie, Armin, and Krista waging the mental war against their survival instincts to stand their ground in order to hold true to their choice of joining the Survey Corps rather than leaving the place for either the Garrison or the Military Police. I have to say that Jean got his moment to shine in the spotlight in this episode in order to stir things up for the upcoming storm in the next one. Furthermore, Jean matured quite nicely after the hell he and others endured and survived at Trost, and the last straw that drove him forward was Marco's death. Jean definitely not wants to die like everybody else, but in this episode his fear makes him to want to cling upon something a sort of promise, guarantee, or oath. Anything that would reassure him and the others who joined the Survey Corps that their possible and certain deaths would mean something; a warranty that they won't die in vain. And, this kind of position is a tough one for Eren, since it's brought forward the issue about him not being able to control his Titan powers. Hence, there's no assurance as to the fate that awaits to those who chose to join the Survey Corps. Last edited by Guido; 2013-10-25 at 20:08. |
