people who can turn themselves into mecha, not piloted mecha

hi DRAGUN H.E.X. here, i'm looking for a bunch of mecha series which feature the main protagonist who can turn/change/transform themselves into a mecha instead of piloting them, ala Ultraman

the series i found so far are the Transformers Headmasters & Masterforce series
& the Brave/Yuusha series like Brave Command Dagwon

i apreciate your help in finding such series, thank you

I need to go back to very old stuff to find in my memory something like that...

The first and foremost is Go Nagai's Kotetsu Jeeg where the main character becomes the head of the giant robot.

Magne Robot Gakeen is similar in concept except there are two "pilots" (a girl and boy) who physically transform in the superrobot's belt and then control him directly.

Kinda similar to what you are looking for is Toushi Gordian which is a sort of a matrioska robot. The first "robot" is basically the main character with a mechasuit, which then can enter inside a bigger mechasuit which then can enter in an even bigger mechasuit... and so on...

Not central of the anime but in SF Saiyuki Starzinger one of the three main characters is a cyborg that can at will enlarge himself to giant size (but he doesn't do that always).

Btw are sizes important? If not Brigadoon may fit your request. The "hero" is a bio-cybernetic weapon. Also Tekkaman.

Well, if you liked Ultraman, there's always the parody series
