gseed wasn't licensed until fairly late if I recall correctly -- though, it being a gundam series, everyone knew it was going to get licensed eventually anyway. Good examples of licensed-before-airing would be things like read or die tv, ninja scroll, ghost in the shell first and second season.

And I don't think too many people who acknowledge licensing at all acknowledge licensed during airing differently than licensing beforehand. Look at the records of groups who do licensed at all ... there's dvd rippers (see also: every ogm group that exists), there's people who do stuff until they're asked to stop (see also: animeone, anime kraze), there's people who do whatever whether asked to stop it or not (we all remember the bad pr fiasco that animejunkies had wiith that), and there's people who don't do licensed (see: the majority of the groups that use the scarywater tracker exclusively).

I think the distributions of those groups somewhat answers your poll.

In Region 2, that is.

Basically, if it's lisenced for a DVD release with dub AND sub, I will stop/support the DVD. But when it's a TV only dub that will never get subbed(as is the case with Pocket Monsters, Sonic X, Rockman, ect), I continue to work on them/download em. I would stop it all if they released a uncut DVD with good subs and all the names left in :P
