I'de imagine perhaps 1/100th% of MGLN fans would have interest in Yuuno merch... Pairings aside, he's terribly unpopular, as is every male in MGLN. It's for cute females, not shotas and bishounen. It took years for a Shamal figure, and I'm sure she has Yuuno trumped in popularity.

I think merchandise content doesn't indicate much of anything.

Megami does provide, however.

It says that the fourth standalone incarnation of the Nanoha franchise is confirmed as a manga. Nothing about an anime adaptation yet. But it's possible, just look at Macross Frontier.

Interestingly, no more 'Mahou Shoujo' Now it's Mahou Senki Lyrical Nanoha, and subtitled "Force".

Mahou Senki translates to 'Magical War Chronicle(s)' Down the StS route we go...

Excessive squinting also reveals that it's going to be about a 25-year-old Nanoha. Awesome.

Looks like I'm holding of of writing that Syn story just yet, looks like just might get some canon stuff to work with.

And am I reading correctly that the release date of the first volume is the 30th of April?

Unfortunately not correct. It's Volume 1 of the Nyantype magazine, probably the bishoujo version of Newtype.

BUT. The serialisation(aka chapter 1) will be carried apparently.

Nope, but I think it is a given that the other characters will come back one way or another, they're a part of the franchise as well.

I am hoping that the change of title is not just for show, but also to mark a departure, even a slight one, from the mahou shoujo genre. Still, it seems to me that the franchise is setting a precedent when it comes to follow the journey of a magical girl.

The new art style kind of takes some getting used to IMO. No biggie, since I still regard StS manga art as the best, and that took some getting used to as well.

Also, the little grey bubble says (vaguely, I had to squint like hell for this!): "Air Combat Mage Takamachi Nanoha, 25 years old. Her unbeatable soul still flourishes."

That's as good as any indication for a change of tone. SRW?

SSX had people committing suicide right on front of Subaru, and zombie-weapons. If that's any indication to go on, I think it's highly likely the tone will shift more towards the gritty and serious style.

That's a preview of the manga art, so you're right. See the bubble pointing to her? Maybe that's also another symbolic departure from her former magical girl incarnation...

Um..it was just an expression of shock that Megami would let one of their money-spinners go, I can't count how many times Nanoha made cover page on Megami. Not to mention how nearly every issue had a Nanoha-related poster in it ever since StS's release until end of 2007(StS airing year, if anyone still remembers).
