Just finished watching episode 13 and just had to comment before watching season 2. That ending was AMAZING!! I never get chills that epic often. Now excuse me, onwards to season 2!

and finally next week episode will be the "famous" "star war kind scenario" that I have been waiting for. Amazing episode this week. I really like what they did at the beginning with the OP and the ED. Very emotional episode that concludes this "General Election Arc". This week is going to be long and painful to wait.

great episode this week, dramatic but heartfelt, liked the OP & ED, glad too that they didn't compress it.
seems the next Acchan is coming ,Sensei-sensei ordered it, ... even Yuuko recognized it. so Nagisa or Chieri....well everything points to Nagisa at the moment. Quite something both of them can so easily make their kirara glow at anytime now. quite the contrast when Nagisa was leaving the stage with a couple of succesors but she's the only one with a glowing kirara.

...So many girls I want to hug this week... Mimori and Kanata and Chieri (I always want to hug Chieri... somehow she always seems in need of hugs) and Takamina so very much (the look on her face when she heard she had come in second... even the use of the most awesome part of AKB Sanjou! as her theme couldn't offset the pain from the look of disappointment) and somehow even Yuuko looked like she needed hugs. I WANNA HUG THEM ALL!!
*coughs* Anyway. Folks can argue that not much happened this week, and I suppose chronologically not a lot of progress was made, but this was a significant event, both in terms of their lives as idols, and in terms of the girls' character development. Nagisa has (hopefully) finally come to understand that competition doesn't need to make you enemies with each other. Last week Chieri steadfastly refused to let her father run her life... and this week she took that to another level by realizing (perhaps unconsciously) that if she leaves just because he's trying to make her stay, she's still letting him indirectly control her life, letting him force her away from who she wants to be, and what she wants to do. ...Well, maybe I'm giving her too much credit, and it was just for the fans' sake that she stayed, but still, it's true, and I hope if she hasn't realized it, she will. If he doesn't want her to leave, and she leaves to spite him, in a way she is still letting him control her actions. To truly be free of him, she must make her own choices regardless of what he wants. The other understudies had various epiphanies about not giving up, about how much they meant to each other, etc. This was an important character development episode, and with all the build up it could not have been skipped, and should not have been compressed. I say they did this right, and they did this well. There was emotion in this episode, and powerful moments. I felt myself tearing up at times. They did well. Now that it is done, on to the next stage. I think evil is going to show more of its true colors soon, and the girls are going to need every bit of strength they have gained to face it.

I'm pretty sure that Nagisa is slated to be the successor to Acchan. The way she glowed as she ran off the stage after the winners were announced, her vision at the beginning of episode 14, and Chieri as a rival? I have this vision of the top 3 of the next generation of successors.
Nagisa=Acchan Chieri=Yuuko And of course, we all know that Kanata is destined to become Takamina Poor Yuuko, already declared that she intends to be the Center Nova, and now has to fight just to keep her spot as Yuuko from Chieri, as well as fend off two others who have all the ability to be Center Nova if they only realize what they're capable of.

We're talking Kawamori here. Nagisa becoming Acchan is way too obvious, and there's enough foreshadowing suggesting they might get to keep their names instead of taking on the name of AKB members.
As for the Center Nova, my money is still on Chieri and Nagisa forming a Center Nova duo. Specially after this episode.

Mimori and Tomochin best speeches.
Very, very emotional episode jam-packed with valuable character moments. The orchestral version of the ED was an especially nice touch. While Kibou ni Tsuite still takes top spot in my eyes, I'm quite fond of the new ED, and the new OP is gradually growing on me.

Checked out FF.net, and this time there now five fics posted (one is even written in Indonesian):
http://www.fanfiction.net/anime/AKB0048/ BTW, some think this is the worst episode, but otherwise it's emotionally moving; somehow they -- especially Okada -- were able to capture the tense, heart-wringing drama of the real-life elections, as even the normally cool, reserved girls spill out their guts right there. I still think Nagisa will likely to bge the next Acchan. She is very competative and aggressive if she wants to. Just look at her table tennis match with Kanata. The way the From the looks of the ending, Nagisa is the cause of the Kirara to glow.

A very emotional episode.
Love this episode. Glad thay they spend one episode on this General Election episode. Love Mimorin, Tomochin, and Takamina's speech. Poor Tomochin, from 3rd place in pleminary result to 8th place and losing to Chieri. No wonder she seems down in the ED credit. Sayaka also seen downed. Looks like only Mayuyu and Yukirin is the one not affected by the ranking. And i wonder what's next for AKB0048 after the general election? |

While I can see where the "they will keep their names" theory is coming from, I think they will become successors. It was a main point of the story u7ntil now, and like mechdra said, if the PV is to be believed, it will be a main point from now on.
In any way, if those last 4 episodes are an example, I think they will deliver a pretty fun story either way. Now waiting for the rumored "star wars epic" like episode.
