People can't honestly have thought that an entire TV series was going to look like an original character designers highest quality art did they? Maybe, just maybe if it was a movie, but yeah translating that level of detail into a sustained art style for a TV series would destroy anything resembling a budget.

I don't think anybody was expecting all THAT -- or at least *I* wasn't. I know better than that. I just wish it looked... different, is all.

I rather like the anime character designs, but I do wonder why the lost the pastel colored world look, I mean look at the anime adaptations of Shimura Takako works. The art style makes the series more action orientated looking, which considering how little we actually know about the series, it may be on purpose. Hell for all we know its another Sunrise mecha series.

I know what thats what they say, but looking at who is directing, who is writing, and the fact that is a Sunrise anime, I would be kind of surprised if its a straight up summer slice of life series with no twists.

The director also worked on Hanamaru Kindergarten. While that one did have a source to adhere to, it proves he can handle an ordinary slice-of-life comedy series perfectly well.

The official website has updated, and by updated I mean its now no longer just a front page.

Crunchyroll has a translation of the character bios and a little more information about the plot.

So looks like its going to be a summer slice of life series, but there is some sort of "miracle" that changes the character's lives.

Maybe it will be like Kamichu and one, or maybe all of them, become gods. Gods of Music?

I wonder if the press event on 29 January will reveal what it is. Maybe it will be a per-screening of episode 01.

Edit: For fans of Hidari's original art, looks like there is at least going to be an art book featuring it.

The current information is the series will start in April, it will be 12 episodes long, and a CD of the OP and ED will be released on 25 April.

Also there is supposed to be a photo book released before the anime starts.

PV reminds me of Tamayura, except theres no cameras and everyone has impossibly colored hair. Nonetheless, the photo-referenced backgrounds are suitably sexy, and all the Sphere girls are using a different kind of voice. Character designs are nice animated too(the Haruka Tomatsu girl looks like Railgun's Saten, right down to the JC Staff eyes). I thought Sunrise would've had problems with coloring, but looks like they did alright.

I like the character designs too.

This one looks better and better.... Definitely checking it out.
