Touma took from Shizuo:

A full force vending machine which slammed him INTO a concrete wall (no gaps between wall and machine)

A full force throw INTO a metal car, the car skidded right across the street from the force

Another fifteen punches

Touma lost consciousness standing after getting one punch (not really from a bystander's POV, just a feeble touch) in

Shizuo was able to shake off Accel's blood reversal with only a headache

He was able to play pinball with Accel with a vending machine (so basically Shizuo throws it, reflection, punches it back, reflection etc. until the thing just broke on its own)

Accel comments that Celty could have killed him with her shadows if she really wanted to

Nobody from Simple Survey actually appears, though the crossover was claimed to have happened due to the idea of Absurd

Kamachi got what he wanted in NT 10: Having someone call out Birdway being a brocon, the one doing it should be someone from Baccano!!

The first half was written by Kamachi. The part starting with Shizuo Vs Accel is by Narita. Shizuo was a beast in both parts ofc.

Basically the first two instances are due to fukouda, Shizuo was throwing a fit looking for Izaya and Touma accidentally ripped off a button from his bartender uniform. Shizuo commented that walking away from the vending machine meant Touma was comparable to Simon. The other fifteen was more a contest of resolve. Basically massive airship appears in the sky about to crash into AC due to the distortion caused by the cross over, Tokiwadai people are trapped inside and Mikoto cannot completely hack into it. Touma asks Durarara people for help.

Shizuo: You know what it means when you drag innocent people into danger like this right?

Touma immediately replies: Yes I do.

Shizuo: Let's see your resolve then, if you got what it takes then I'll help you.

Touma: Ok, a promise is a promise.

Beat down ensues, Touma Vs. Silvia 2.0

Kadota commented that once Touma accepted the challenge from "that" Shizuo, he had already won. Shizuo had held back, but Celty thought to herself even she would have trouble taking all fifteen punches. Not to mention Touma was already in a bad shape from the vending machine and launched into a car.

In the end the airship was stopped with the combined effort of the Tokiwadai group, Celty, Anri, Kazakiri and finally Shizuo.


In the second half, Accel was tricked into fighting Shizuo by Izaya, who disguised himself as one of the board of directors with help from Loki. Izaya said Shizuo would disturb the sister network, is a loli kidnapper etc. Celty was thrown into a rage after seeing Shizuo being beaten around (though Shizuo doesn't seem all that bothered really, even though there was no way he could hurt Accel). She traps Accel in her shadows hoping to asphyxiate him a bit (just to calm him down), though Accel ripped it apart with his wings. Accel states Celty could have killed him in an instant if she wanted to, because shadows have no density and is basically a phenomenon and not a material.

You know it's usually the ones that are doing the asskicking that people would see as 'awesome' but here it's different because part of his charm is going against these odds

Yeah I have been thinking the same thing. This the second time he asks someone for help, and it is the first time it's a stranger. Just like how Shizuo told him, he is involving innocent people here, and Touma affirmed he knows that and thus he is ready to accept the consequences.

What'cha talking about after braving through 40+ volumes of Raildex? Baccano! is 25+ vol., Durarara!! is, what, 16+ vol., Vamp! is just 5, and Etsusa Bridge is 6 vols.

Coming from a guy who hasn't even finished the Durarara anime, there's nothing plot-major, Most of the characters from Durarara who appear are the ones already mentioned in the anime except for one: Tsukumoya Shinichi. I looked him up and he's just an information provider to me, if you know him better from the novels then you can ignore what I just said. Hell Mikado only got mentioned once and nothing on Masaomi altogether. So nothing extremely plot related.

I saw that today he started translating Kawakami's first series, the City Series. He's got an ample amount of Kawakami material to work with. It'll probably be his life's work to completely translate all of his works going by the pace he's going at.
