Boy love. Usually refers to guys that are a bit too friendly I think. While yaoi is full blown homosexuality (between guys. shoujo-ai and yuri refers to girls).

Hanaibe was definately not a romance, but it was pretty good. Although it seemed unfinished. Somewhat sad too.

Kashimashi is an ecchi romance that imho isnt very well done. There's tons of stuff they couldve done with the premise of the story. There's no excuse for the boring, funny, followed by boring patterns in it.

Fushigi Yuugi is a great manga. Get the manga Fushigi Yugi. It is 18 volumes long and the main couple are a wodnerful couple and they have lots of kisses and hugs and get marrie dand have a child.

Ayashi no Ceres is a great manga, but the anime cuts out everything. Read the manga.

Marmalade Boy is a cute romance.

Peach Girl is very realistic.

Mars is a series which really delves into the characters.

Kare First Love is a manga which also is great.

Kare Kano is another series.

Wild Act is an amazing romance manga.

The Devil Does Exist is a realistic romance manga.

I'm really quite shocked that no-one's recommended Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. That's the seminal romance/plot-driven anime...at least for me.
